Bring on 2025! Seven years ago, it was just Luke getting things started. Now, we’ve grown into a strong team of over 30 full-time staff.🎉 A huge thank you to everyone who’s worked so hard this year—our back-office support, managers, team leaders, and general staff. Every single person plays a vital role in what we do, and we couldn’t do it without you!

As we wrap up the week, one thing stands out, and I'm incredibly grateful for it today: Team. Your team is everything. Be thankful for them. Take the time to let them know. And if you work for or with someone who doesn’t do this, quit and go find someone who will. You deserve to be a part of a great team. You can go very fast alone, and slowing down to define things and get everyone aligned is hard work. But it’s the work you have to do to go far. It may feel frustrating and slow, but it’s what builds legacies. It’s what allows you to pass on generational wealth and success. For those who know me, I like to go fast, so slowing down is hard. But I’ve learned that the journey is more rewarding when you go far together. Let’s build something lasting, something meaningful. Here's to the teams that make it all possible. 3 things that I’ve learned working in the cannabis industry for 3 years. 1. Never get too comfortable. Change is always lingering around the corner. Whether it’s regulatory changes, company directive, or reaction to shifts in the market… change is inevitable and it’s coming. 2. Your team is everything. There’s not a single person who can run a dispensary on their own. Motivating, rewarding, and recognizing your staff should be a number one focus from corporate leadership, down. Happy employees mean better KPIs! 3. Have fun! Have fun every way you can. Whether it’s chatting with a patient, dancing in the vault, or getting creative with your employees to solve problems. Make it fun! This is the only industry where we can change lives in such a positive way; the only industry where individuality is celebrated and embraced! These past 3 years have taught me more about business and how to lead than what I’ve learned in my pre-cannabis career. I’m thankful for everyone I’ve met and even more thankful for all the opportunities that have come my way. Here’s to the next 3 years! There’s more work to do!

Reflecting on my first month at Lever for Change, and I’m LOVING it! This photo from our team retreat on my first day perfectly captures the welcoming spirit I’ve experienced here. As I navigate this new chapter, I’m holding these five truths close: 1. People matter. I’m constantly reminded of the importance of expressing gratitude for the contributions of those around me. Every effort the team has made to my onboarding process is truthfully so appreciated. 2. Asking questions is cool. It's okay to put my pride aside and seek simple confirmations. It’s a great way to ensure clarity and understanding. 3. Look to those wiser. I’m finding immense value in taking advice from superiors, experienced colleagues, and insightful literature. Their wisdom is truly guiding me. 4. It’s okay to show up authentically. I’m embracing the opportunity to bring my true self to work, knowing that adding to the culture is more valuable than fitting into it. 5. Keep clarity on your values. Understanding which values are core to me and which I can be flexible on has been crucial in staying grounded and true to myself. It’s been a wonderful experience so far, and I’m excited about what’s ahead! #JobTransition #Leadership #YoungProfessional

Today marks two years at Cloverleaf, and I’m genuinely honored to be part of this team. While reflecting, I decided to use our tool to ask, "How can I continue to develop as a person?" One aspect of the tip immediately stood out, 'Will this bring me joy?' In 2020, I made a huge career change. I decided to go after things, try new things, and lean into things that bring joy. 'If not now, then when?' was a question I kept asking myself, but I knew I couldn’t dwell on it for too long. I wanted to continue becoming a different person, a different husband, a different father, a different friend, a different teammate, a different leader, a different... In the process, I realized how deeply I wanted to do work that aligned with my values and collaborate with people who care about: ‒ Freedom (empowered to make decisions) ‒ Trustworthiness (reliable) ‒ Curiosity (open-mindedness to explore ideas) ‒ Growth (development as people and a team) ‒ Genuineness (authentic and transparent) I wrote these values down and they became my guideposts as I moved forward. Cloverleaf is one of the spaces in my life where I get to experience and live these values daily. The people here (and, of course, the platform!) consistently help me become different in the best ways. Maybe this tip might help you, too, as you consider your next step in development: Will this bring me joy? How will this enrich my life or others' lives? Is there something else I should do instead?

Inheriting a boss or joining a new team can be challenging. For it to succeed, everyone needs to quickly adapt to each other and stay focused on the team’s goals. When I think about gratitude this week I’m thankful for my colleagues all across Analytics8 | Data & Analytics Consultancy. Especially the group that shares Kevin Lobo as a leader. Every one of my peers on his list helps make it possible for each of us to do our best work, and to collaborate in our mutual success. I learned a long time ago that despite what is on the job description (or isn’t) there are two simple measures of a leader’s success: 1️⃣ Enabling their team to grow, learn, and succeed. 2️⃣ Making their boss look good. So, Kevin, thank you for helping everyone on your team hit these benchmarks. It is a lot easier to make you look good when it is clear that you’re invested in our success as well. Happy Thanksgiving!
In thinking about this year, there's quite a bit to be thankful for. But the one that stands out to me is my team. When I started this role at the outset of the year, I inherited a group of very smart, very driven individuals. I will forever be thankful for their patience and perspective as I found my footing those first few months. I will forever be thankful for their tenacity and diligence in how they approached their work. And most of all - I'll forever be thankful for the levity and warmth they brought to every situation, particularly on the tough days. No leader should ever be naïve enough to think their accomplishments are a byproduct of their own individual talent alone. The talent of the team behind you, and the relationships and trust you build with them, are the real foundation of success. And so this year I'm thankful for my team: those who've been with me through the year, those that joined during the year, and those that left the firm but not without leaving an impact on me I'll be forever grateful for. Many thanks to: Sarah Hart Shuford, Josh Goldner, Abram Balloga, Nathan Sather, Simon Collis, John G Swift - Data Strategy and Data Management Leader, Sean Costello, Joshua Johnston, Abutaleb Haidary, David Walborn, Jeremy Papp, Christina Salmi Bullock and Travis LaMont. My success is your success. Happy Thanksgiving!
