A new inspiring good practice uploaded on the #SMEOrigin website - The Green Heart of Austria! The ‘Green Heart of Austria’ has developed into a renowned tourism brand over five decades. More recently, it has been developed into an umbrella brand that unites the entire Styrian population as brand ambassadors of a common identity. The centrepiece emphasises the culinary diversity of Styrian cuisine, which is based on fresh, regional ingredients, and thus contributes to the region's identity. It also serves as a marketing tool for tourism by attracting visitors who want to discover the outstanding cuisine and natural beauty of Styria. Great article about an Explore Worldwide trip:
Travel Editor and Senior Copy Editor at The Australian Women's Weekly; editor/writer at timetowander.com.au and myfiveromances.com. CELTA qualified teacher of English as a second language.
In the March issue of The Australian Women's Weekly Eva-Maria Bobbert takes you to Northern Spain, where the scenery's gorgeous and you can feast on 'pintxo' - the Basque take on tapas. Here she sampled "stuffed peppers and acorn-fed Iberian ham, cheese stacks, garlicky mushroom and prawn towers, and slabs of goat's cheeze with a sweet walnut drizzle" paired with the local wines. It's "the good life" indeed! Her Explore Worldwide tour took in San Sebastian (pictured), Bilbao, Pamplona, Zaragoza, La Rioja, Laguardia, Puente La Reina, Madrid and Barcelona. The issue is on sale until March 20 and you can drool over the online version at https://lnkd.in/gA2g-T9g #travel #spain #foodexperience #basquecountry #gourmetexperience #traveltrends #explore #bilbao #sansebastian #sansebastián #cuisine #guidedtours #zaragoza #madrid #barcelona #magazine #AWW #australianwomensweekly #tapas #winetasting

Terrific to have our CEO, Olivia Barrie representing the Mornington Peninsula at the Wine Communicators of Australia Inc 2024 Wine Growth Summit in Adelaide on Wednesday, alongside regional leaders - Barossa Australia's Ben Patten and McLaren Vale Grape, Wine & Tourism Association's CEO, Erin Leggat with wine tourism legend, Robin Shaw leading the topic. A few Destination Marketing take aways: - Know your customer, don't try to please everyone and remain true to the region's brand and value proposition. - Visitors choose just 2-3 wineries to visit in a day (used to be 5!), one being a lunch destination. You want to be on their list. Develop relevant, engaging and memorable experiences linked to a well presented brand. - Collaborate with like minded businesses for a powerful, saleable offer which encourages over night stays. - Regional tourism websites are a visitor's first port of call, make sure your presence and offer are current, prominent and high quality. #regionaltourism #wineindustryleaders #collaboration #strongertogether

Revitalising Pokolbin: The Cedar Mill Hunter Valley Located on the corner of McDonalds and Broke roads in Pokolbin within the tourist node, the ambitious development seeks to harness the region's viticultural heritage, transforming a 41-hectare site into a vibrant hub for local and international visitors. What is proposed is a multi-faceted development encompassing a museum, convention centre and tourism clusters. Each cluster is designed to offer unique experiences, from exploring the rich history of winemaking in the museum cluster to hosting large-scale events and conference in the convention cluster. The tourism cluster aims to support the principal uses by offering a range of activities, including wine tasting, dining and retail experiences. Historically, the site has been vacant pasture for about 50 years, with recent investigations confirming that the soil profile is not considered to be prime viticultural land and offers extremely limited capacity for wine grape production. Our latest development journal edition will issued on Monday morning. Subscribe here to stay informed: https://lnkd.in/gzNEX4k5
