Are you procrastinating? : : We're now into the second quarter of 2024 - yes already! If you’re looking back at the goals you've set yourself this year, are you feeling accomplished or a little frustrated? Have you been talking about doing something, yet it never seems to be quite the right time? The thing is there's never a perfect time to start something, especially if it's different and new. It's always easy to find reasons why not. Yet putting off starting until tomorrow or next week leads to even more procrastination or not starting at all. If you really want to make something happen you can. Start by getting really clear about what the value of it is for you. It needs to grab and motivate you from inside. If it doesn't, your drive will more likely disappear when the going gets tough. Then it's about making a firm commitment to yourself and a plan with a simple achievable first step. Next, it's taking that step and then keeping yourself accountable, taking action every day. Step by small step. Lasting change takes investment, commitment and accountability, whether you’re changing your job or career, your home or circle of friends, looking after your relationships, finances or health. And the great thing is, it’s never to late to start anew, what’s a tragedy is waiting and making excuses! If you're a serial procrastinator and you'd like some accountability and support to keep you on track with your goals or if you'd like to create a plan in the first place, please get in touch to find out what NLP Coaching can do for you. #accountability #commitment #investment #selfleadership #nlpcoach

In a recent conversation, it hit me: Our so-called 'limitations' aren't roadblocks; they're rocket fuel. Forget the algorithms, the fancy talk, or who you know. That gut-wrenching desire? That's your ticket. I had to confront my own BS—was it self-doubt, a confidence crash, overthinking paralysis, or fear cloaked as realism keeping me stuck in a deficit mindset? Real talk: Seeking help felt like admitting defeat until I realized it's actually about weaponizing your weaknesses. I took a hard look in the mirror, decided to stop feeding my fears, and started fueling my future with a coach. It wasn't about finding an easy way out but forging a path to my authentic self, which demanded guts and grit. If you're on the fence about getting a coach, hear this: It's not about hand-holding; it's about unlocking hardcore, game-changing energy. Don't let your inner critic hold you hostage. Flip the script, tap into your untapped potential, and let's set the world on fire. #CareerGrowth #SelfDiscovery #OvercomingBarriers #CareerTransformation #UnlockYourPotential

🌟 Imposter Syndrome: Is it Just a Syndrome? What is following me every day? Lack of self-confidence Belief that success is determined by luck Fear of not being good enough Excessively high expectations of myself Strong fear of failure So am I an impostor, or is it just a so-called syndrome? Let's face the truth. A year and a half ago, I made a career switch into data analytics, attended Turing College, consistently achieving top marks. I progressed to become a junior team lead and eventually landed my amazing job as a financial investigator at Guidehouse. Through successful trainings, I advanced from junior to more complex analysis, mentoring others, conducting training sessions, and providing feedback, several days ago became a Knowledge Expert - that was a luck? I won't offer advice on how to deal with imposter syndrome because I'm still figuring it out myself. But one thing I know for sure: time heals, and results speak for themselves. Sometimes, it's not just coincidence, and they don't see you as an impostor. More or less, they all grapple with feeling like impostors themselves. #imposture #workflows #struggleisreal

Are you feeling like a fraud? Cause sometimes, I do. As a recruiter, I aim to find the best talent and match it with great opportunities at Bolt, but I too question my abilities at times. Impostor syndrome can be overwhelming, causing highs and lows. Coping strategies are crucial. Here's what I try to focus on during those lows: 👉🏻 Understand if you have impostor syndrome: Acknowledgment is the first step, don't let it overpower you. 👉🏻 Celebrate small wins: Recognize achievements like an accepted offer, positive feedback, or a well-conducted interview. 👉🏻 Seek support: You're not alone; talk to your manager, peers, colleagues, and friends for valuable insights. 👉🏻 Continuous learning: The more you educate yourself, the less "impostor" you'll feel. 👉🏻 Focus on growth: Embrace mistakes as learning opportunities and prioritize growth over perfection. 👉🏻 Mindfulness and Self-Care: Prioritize mental well-being through practices like meditation, exercise, and sufficient rest. Remember, impostor syndrome doesn't define you. Your skills, dedication, and passion for your work speak volumes. P.S. Yes, I did play Among Us - and that's the only time I enjoyed being the impostor. 👀 #recruitment #impostorsyndrome #selfcare

I resigned my job for the unknown. Everytime I have had a big win- it started with doing something afraid. I know you like gist, so welcome 😀 Truth is, I have never been that person who loved to be in the limelight. Catch me to show up publicly and I could give you 1001 reasons why someone else should do it and not me. If given the opportunity to describe myself 7 years ago, I would have had a statement in there that looked like “ I’m a shy person” I know it’s hard to believe now but as time went by, I realized it wasn’t just about being shy, it was more about “would people like what I say when I speak”. This is what happens when you start looking inwards. “Will I sound intelligent enough for their ears?” These thoughts showed up even for the things I knew so well and got compliments for. When fear wants to grip you it never shows you mercy until you fight back. I have since learnt that big wins come with a slice of fear so it doesn’t grip me as much anymore, rather it’s part of the journey. Today, as a Peak Performance Coach and Master NLP Practitioner, I help others overcome their own fears and unlock their true potential. Just last week I was on stage again on 2 occasions speaking to hundreds of people with so much joy in my heart. I've discovered that on the other side of fear lies a world of endless possibilities. You have all the resources you need within you and if this means anything to you, remember that there is nothing like failure, only feedback. 👉🏻Repost this if you learnt something 👉🏻Follow Fejiro Adaka (The Lighthouse) 👉🏻Engage with me in the comments below. If you will let me, I’m more than excited to help you. #OurMind doesnt #comprehend #negative #instructions Developing strong mental models is essential for effective decision making, yet our brains often struggle with processing negative instructions. Telling ourselves not to focus on a problem can make it even more prominent in our minds. By building mental models that focus on clear, positive actions, we can increase our capacity to stay focused and proactive. Instead of 'don’t worry about mistakes,' try 'focus on continuous improvement.' Shifting our thinking this way builds resilience and enhances clarity in both personal and professional life. #MentalModels #PositiveMindset #Focus #ProfessionalGrowth"

Overcoming Setbacks: Embracing Growth and Resilience One loss, a disagreement, a failed test—sometimes, a single negative experience can lead us to form hasty, erroneous conclusions. This can cause us to view all future related events through a distorted lens, ultimately preventing us from trying again. By closing off these options, we inadvertently make our world smaller. When we experience setbacks, painful emotions often follow. The stronger the emotion, the more likely it is to influence our thinking, potentially leading to cognitive distortions. To prevent our emotions from clouding our judgment, we must ask ourselves: Am I relying on actual evidence, or am I letting my feelings guide my thinking? #GrowthMindset #Resilience #OvercomingSetbacks #PositiveThinking #EmotionalIntelligence #PersonalDevelopment
