More stability in 2025! We're teaming up with ROGESA Roheisengesellschaft Saar mbH in Dillingen to give Blast Furnace 4 a major upgrade. Here's what's happening: ➡️ The furnace will take a short break for 55 days in 2025 after running non-stop for 9 years. ➡️ We're renewing the furnace lining with our latest Paul Wurth S.A. technology. This means the furnace will be more reliable and last even longer. ➡️ We're also using Multi Thermocouple Sensor Probes to keep a close eye on the wear and tear. This will help us make sure everything runs smoothly and efficiently. Our solution includes technologies like carbon blocks and ceramic cups that help with insulation, corrosion resistance, and keeping the structure strong. Innovative AFP steel grades revolutionize the #WireIndustry ⬇️   We provide insights into an innovative material concept for advanced ferritic pearlitic (AFP) steels that eliminates the need for energy-intensive heat treatments and reduces CO2 emissions by up to 20% per ton of steel.   Together with the teams from voestalpine Stahl Donawitz, voestalpine Wire Rod Austria and voestalpine Wire Austria, this sustainable solution was implemented. These new materials improve production through their simplicity and efficiency, resulting in lower costs and reduced CO2 emissions.   🔧 Technological and ecological advantages: Thanks to the avoidance of additional heat treatments, our AFP steels offer an excellent balance between ductility and strength. This means significant savings and an improved environmental footprint for our customers.
