Deeptech scale-up CEOs unite in call to action Ten CEOs of Dutch scale-ups are calling on the Dutch government to pay more attention to the innovation climate in the Netherlands. According to them, the Netherlands lacks the innovation and business climate necessary to maintain current prosperity and therefore have drawn up ten points for improvement. Amongst these ten tech champions is Hamed Sadeghian, co-founder and CEO of Nearfield Instruments . As he puts it: "Deeptech companies drive the technological innovations that enable a prosperous and greener future for The Netherlands and the world. But that requires consistent policy, risk appetite and speed. The government, banks, investors and companies all have a role to play to make this future happen." The news is out: We could not be more excited that our partners from Goldman Sachs Growth invested $120m in osapiens to continue building the category lead ESG platform.   I remember it as if it was yesterday when we first met Alberto Zamora, Matthias Jungblut and Stefan Wawrzinek in Mannheim 18 months ago: the ambition to build world-class tech products that make an impact, the bootstrapped mentality, and the drive to scale a European Tech champion – all the ingredients that we love at Armira Growth.   What a ride it has been since then: scaling from 150 to more than 300 osapeers, increasing the customer base by more than 450% to over 1,300 international customers, opening five offices across Europe and the US – and at the same time developing the leading all-in-one ESG software platform.   We are looking forward to the next phase of growth with our partners from Goldman Sachs, Alexander Lippert and Christian Resch.    Alberto, Stefan and Matthias (but also Thomas Alt) – we remain truly thankful for taking us, Armira Growth on this adventurous journey and we are committed to all that lies ahead of us. https://lnkd.in/d-aUfHF4

WOW! Awarded with the title ‘Most Innovative Leader 2024’ in The Netherlands! 💪 After several months with various jury rounds and pitches, this week the audience and the jury of the Innovation Summit 2024 voted for the annual award of ‘Most Innovative Leader’ in digital. And I won the award! So supercool! A real appreciation for all the hard work to accelerate the energy transition, building on years of experience and successes. Humbled, super proud, hard to describe all happy emotions. The chair of the jury - Eric Wesselman (KPMG) - expressed it like this: “Winner Jeroen Scheer owes the prize to his commitment to innovations in business models, IT technologies and architecture, among other things, which also facilitate sustainability at energy suppliers. Jeroen wants to accelerate the energy transition, not only for us, but also for our children. Jeroen is really sticking his neck out in a sector characterised by tradition. He is recognised by many as a visionary and driving force in the energy and Shell's transition, changes that are about much more than just technological applications”. As you can imagine for me this feels not only like a superb recognition, but also as an encouragement to go faster. My motto keeps being: “Dream Big, Start Small, but most of all: START!” For now I am just enjoying the moment, so we can accelerate further and faster. The national government mentioned Whispp as an example of recent innovative technologies in the Annual Report Promotion of Research and Development (WBSO) 2023. "We share a number of inspiring stories of entrepreneurs who, thanks in part to the WBSO, have realized new products or applications that respond to social needs. As in the practical story of the app Whispp, which converts whispering into speech. This helps people who stutter or have voice problems due to ALS, Parkinson's or throat cancer. These are innovations that make the world a little nicer! I want to thank all the entrepreneurs for their commitment, guts and creativity. And wish you much inspiration while reading this annual report." - says Micky Adriaansens, Minister of Economical Affairs in the Netherlands (Ministerie van Economische Zaken en Klimaat). "Annual Report WBSO 2023 - Focus On Research & Development The importance of technological innovation for the Dutch economy is enormous. In the context of globalization and increasing international competition, it is crucial that the Netherlands continues to invest in new technologies. This is essential not only to maintain our strong economic position, but also to address societal challenges in areas such as energy, logistics, safety and healthcare. The Law Promotion of Research and Development (WBSO) plays a key role in this by encouraging Dutch companies to invest more in research and development. The WBSO reduces labor and other R&D expenses, giving companies more room to innovate. By 2023, more than 19,000 companies have made use of it, 97% of which are small and medium-sized enterprises. This scheme contributes to the ability of Dutch companies to compete in a globalizing market and to realize innovations that are not only of economic but also social value. There are many ways that SAP's partners can focus on and contribute to improving their sustainability. A great example is one of the Corporate Social Responsibility Award winners from our Partner Innovation Meetings last year, Inetum. Inetum’s "Subscribe to Plant" initiative in collaboration with SAP and Quercus is aiming to contribute to the reforestation of the incredible Portuguese national forests that have been damaged by wildfires in recent years. To achieve this, Inetum is committed to planting a tree of an indigenous species for every €2000 purchased in SAP Cloud subscriptions.   So far, Inetum has already successfully planted over 1000 trees of native species back into the Portuguese forests and this number will only continue to increase as Inetum continues their great work.
