It’s Game Day. Can your wireless network meet the demand for capacity and coverage? Sports fans and concertgoers expect high-capacity wireless service as an integral part of their experience. Staff, media and public safety personnel also rely upon wireless networks to do their jobs and maintain a safe environment. On game day everyone expects a memorable experience, of which wireless now plays a significant part. But stadiums, arenas and entertainment venues are uniquely challenging environments where wireless networks are temporarily inundated by massive data traffic surges during the event that tax throughput capacity. Adding to the challenge is the growing need to enable cellular, Wi-Fi and public-safety communications. We have built solutions for some of the largest stadiums in the UK and Europe. Talk to us to and learn more about our solutions here. https://lnkd.in/eBGNCU89 #DAS #lowpower #connectivity #coverage #mobilecoverage #capacity #5G

When it comes to broadcasting high-traffic sporting events, connection matters in order to provide a great and memorable live fan experience. That’s why we took on a new challenge with 3 Sverige and Mobile Links Europe AB to bring the Stockholm Marathon to the silver screen – all with a supercharged 5G and network slicing 📡 Leveraging state-of-the-art Ericsson equipment and the robust 3 Sverige 5G standalone network, the marathon’s lead vehicle seamlessly livestreamed the entire event, from beginning to end. With the ability to optimize traffic through a slice configured to meet broadcasters’ specific needs in throughput, latency and security, network slicing technology allows us to provide a fast and flexible service, changing the way we watch live sporting events. We’re transforming broadcasting with 5G network slicing. Find out how ➡ https://lnkd.in/eq5BVgqQ #Ericsson #3Sverige #StockholmMarathon #MakeItMemorable #NetworkSlicing #5GBroadcasting

Olympics will start on next week. While sports and competition is on frontpage and main topic, there are also some interesting telco behind. Here is a short story on how Orange is making the wireless infra for the Games. Private networks for broadcasting, with Samsung handsets. Orange 5G network for public, and some WiFi also.

Another reason #euro2024 should be a fun watch – 5G will be involved! Broadcaster RTL Deutschland and Deutsche Telekom are working together to use 5G services via a private 5G network to deliver “data-intensive applications” with the network running in the 3.7GHz to 3.8GHz range and offering up to 100MHz of bandwidth to the broadcaster. Great to see innovation being driven by events in the market to actually test use cases and push barriers rather than there merely being a lot of talk about how great private networks could be. #connectivity #networks #privatenetworks #private5g #investment #innovation #mnos #Germany #2g #3g #4g #5g #business #enterprise #growth #mobile #mobilenetworks #telecoms #telecommunications #technology #stadiums #sport #football https://lnkd.in/e_QH3wPi

5G starts to transform our digital experience with much higher speeds than 4G and reduced latency. This is what it means: ✨ Increased connection capacity : The number of simultaneous connections at the same site will be significantly increased, eliminating network saturation issues in high-traffic locations such as stadiums and concert venues. 📡 High quality transmission for broadcasters: 5G will significantly improve transmission quality, providing more reliable and stable links. This represents a major step forward for broadcasters to deliver high-quality content in real time without interruptions. 🔧 AETA 5G Ready Equipment: AETA equipment is already 5G ready, including the Scoopfone 5G, ScoopTeam, ScoopyFlex and Scoop 6 models. These devices will take full advantage of the benefits of the new 5G technology. #5G #Innovation #Connectivity #AETA #Broadcasting #Technology

#5G is already being put to use ahead of the upcoming Olympic games in France! 🥇🥈🥉 French national public television broadcaster France Télévisions is using a private 5G network to transmit coverage of the Olympic torch relay in Paris at the Paris 2024 Olympic and Paralympic Games. It has been broadcasting over private 5G for 10 hours per day since May 9, covering the Olympic torch’s journey of 1,625 kilometres 🚐 💡 The broadcaster is using a private 5G product, called a "bubble" Dome which can be deployed in the trunk of a car, making it an inexpensive and flexible solution. The network Orange has built uses the "standalone" (SA) version of 5G, meaning there is not just a new radio network but also a successor to the 4G "core," the software- based control center of the entire system. With network slicing, a much-publicized feature of 5G SA, operators can reserve part of a public network for private use, attaching performance guarantees to this virtual slice.
Another great example of how our partnerships are enabling businesses to drive transformative potential for their digital operations, especially for a marquee event like the Olympics, is Orange's groundbreaking use of 5G technology at the Paris Games. The integration of Cisco's technology within Orange's private #5G #network sets a new standard for sports broadcasting, making the Paris Olympics a truly transformative event. https://lnkd.in/gUJEesXg

Do you ever get annoyed when watching live sport and you receive a heads up or an alert of something that’s happened in a game / event, but you haven’t got there yet because you’re watching via IP and are behind? This has happened to me plenty of times and most notably earlier this summer when Cole Palmer equalised against Spain in the Euros Final. I could hear cheering from pubs in the distance which told me something was about to happen. How annoying is that?! Sport is all about the live and receiving spoilers through digital channels or from friends, neighbours (or pubs!) can really damage your viewing experience. This is a genuine customer problem we’ve been working on a solution for across Glass and Stream. I’m delighted to announce that we’re allowing our Sports customers to try out our low latency technology against Sky Sports Main Event HD and UHD on Sky over IP. This brings the latency (delay) down to levels close to Digital terrestrial TV and Direct to home (satellite). We’ve done this by leveraging emerging video standards that change the way video is processed and delivered to customers which ultimately reduces the latency throughout the entire delivery pipeline. This has been no mean feat and has entailed months of testing and data analysis and plenty of collaboration across countless teams across Sky and Comcast. This is just the beginning but for now we’re starting to roll this out to one of Sky’s flagship channels in the UK, helping to deliver our live pictures to sports fans as close to live as possible. #livesync #lowlatency
