🆒 The temperature drops quite a bit these two days. Clothes after prolonged storage from your wardrobe may have a musty or unpleasant smell. My colleagues Charlotte Matthew, Tony Ho and Sean Tong just published the Frazer Jones #Asia #HR #market #report and #salary #guide. Our data clearly shows that nearly two thirds of HR professionals are considering a #career move in the next year which is reflected in the 89% of organisations being concerned about #retention. There is clearly huge tension in the market, building up pressure which we believe will be released into the market soon. These #sentiment stats are very much in line with what I hear in conversations with #CHRO level decision makers across #Europe and the #US . The report contains a huge amount of market insight and data. Please get your copy of the report here: https://lnkd.in/eSdKKRBV Please do not hesitate to reach out to me directly if you like me to introduce you to our incredible team in Asia. #recruitment #executivesearch #singapore #hongkong #HR #hiring #trends

Sharing a personal story about personal growth and development. In Oct, I was reached out by a recruiting HR of a competitor company in Beijing. The first time I just didn’t reply as I was too busy minding my own business. The HR reached out to me again yesterday and used the same messaging “ My boss talked to you before, please add me when you are free” ( or sth similar. I don’t remember the exact wordings) I asked what’s the purpose of this connection and this HR personnel would like to offer me some senior roles and these roles could be full time, part time and in consultant contract. I just said no and requested my personal information deleted. Well… three years ago, I was turned down by the same company for the role I applied for. The reason as I was over 35, married,no child yet and they were not sure how valid“BD resources” I had. (for some reason, it is still legal in China . Don’t ask me why. I don’t know either) I was trying to explain to that HR that my expertises and insights actually matched what their business looked for and perfect for expanding their new business. “Ms. Ho, you are over 35. I believe that your manager would think you are too difficult to manage.” Well, this HR and company cultures give me more confidence about my KPI now ;) Although there is no perfect company and I know I don’t always like everything at Roblox, I truly respect and love the non-discriminative culture even for job seekers, even in China office. It’s not easy to create a culture like this. One of my job satisfaction and motivation comes from “ I believe I’m working for a company trying to do the right thing”. Oh, I’m still very difficult to be managed so my manager and I both grow quite well and worked out how to work better and better (at least from my perspective :p) #ADifficultToManagePerson #WorkingInChina

Some things in life are too good, yet can be true! Human Resource is a key resource for a small country like Singapore. HR holds a key role in : 1. Hiring the right talents 2. Renumerating talents fairly and competitively 3. Retaining and grooming talents 4. Instituting sound corporate policies 5. Keeping up to date with tech for HR functions 6. Partnering with business and operational functions seamlessly 7. Innovating with times in a VUCA environment I have been the beneficiary of good HR functions in my 2 decades in tech sales. They attracted and recruited me to contribute effectively in sales based on my strengths and experiences with competitive pay structure and commission schemes. They also provided me with world-class sales enablement programmes and staff policies that benefit both employers and employees. Wise usage of tech to reduce administration time for claims and reporting and keeping tandem to trends with enhanced work structure increased my sales productivity. While I run a lean Sales Training and Coaching company, these are ingredients for effective HR when Sales Symphony grows. Who says we can't have our cake and eat it? Have a really sweet week ahead! 📸 Desserts by an award-winning pastry chef at World HR Congress last week were too pretty to be eaten! A feast to the eyes before they hit the mouth! 🥞 🧁 🍰 Connect with 𝘾𝙝𝙞𝙚𝙛 𝙎𝙖𝙡𝙚𝙨 𝙊𝙧𝙘𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙤𝙧 to learn and drive more sales! HR Karta Kya Hain? Rangoli :-) 😀 You know, some people think HR is just about organising birthday cakes and sending emails with policies no one reads. But really, we’re a bit like artists creating a Rangoli. Sure, it looks pretty from a distance, but the real magic lies in the chaos, coordination, and precision behind each stroke. So, let’s break it down using RANGOLI—because HR is way more than just the "fun police." R – Recruitment: Like hunting for that perfect shade of color, we scout for the ideal talent to make the entire design pop. A – Alignment: Making sure the dots connect between personal aspirations and organizational goals. Otherwise, it's just a bunch of random scribbles! N – Nurturing: It's not all about discipline—sometimes, it’s about giving room for growth so the team can evolve like a flourishing pattern. G – Growth: Focusing on expansion—both for the individual and the organization. After all, we don’t just stick to basic shapes, do we? O – Onboarding: Setting the first stroke right so new hires don’t walk in and wonder what the heck is going on. L – Leadership Development: Sharpening leaders to guide the team—no one wants a messy centerpiece! I – Inclusion: Adding that final touch of diversity, making sure no color (or talent) is left out of the beautiful design. So, next time you think HR is just about managing paperwork, remember—we’re creating Rangoli every day, making it look effortless but knowing there’s so much behind the scenes. 🎨 #hiring #talent #HR

I’ve never seen HR hold senior management to the same level of accountability as they do with entry-level & mid-level employees. Mostly, I've seen HR act as the CEO's mouthpiece in Pakistani organizations. The HR department is supposed to be on the team's side, not management. Essentially, their JD is to preserve and boost the employees' productivity, motivation, and job satisfaction levels. However, I have never seen a single HR representative go head-to-head against a senior manager or director to protect a junior-level employee from unfairness. Never even once. I'm not saying that there aren't any HR professionals who actually DO their job in Pakistan. I'm just saying that I haven't come across one yet. Even the best ones I see today could hardly: → Take care of the hiring. → Organize employee training. → Organize events and getaways. → Do some bits of company branding. → At least listen to our concerns (do nothing). → Tell us about offs or when the salary is coming. They'll do all the easy bits of the job and add firing to the list (which is indeed difficult). However, I haven't encountered an HR professional who takes care of the department's hardest part of the job. To protect those with less authority from those who have more. Your job is to take care of your employees. → Not copying trending posts to get followers. → Posting fake job offers that require you to comment below. → Or uploading pointless selfies with senseless ChatGPT captions. Your 40+ thousand-something followers mean nothing if you call yourself a "human resource professional" and still do not take a stand when people are treated inhumanely in the organizations you represent. Some jokers in the field have put everyone in a bad name, and that's not fair. It's about time HR professionals step forward and show us that there's a certain segment of their peers, as we have in writing or marketing, that actually does 100% of their job. Don't tell me your four-year degree only taught you how to organize mango parties. Enough claims now. Show us the good work you've done publicly (we've already seen too much of the bad stuff). We need receipts.
