Most of these veterans have sustained injuries including multiple limb amputations, partial or full paralysis, and/or severe traumatic brain injury (TBI). These homes restore some of the freedom and independence our veterans sacrificed while defending our country, and enable them to focus on their family, recovery, and rebuilding their lives. Since its inception in 2004, nearly 90 cents of every dollar have gone directly to our program services for veterans. HFOT builds these homes where the veteran chooses to live and continues its relationship with the veterans after home delivery to assist them with rebuilding their lives. Veterans Fast Facts: There are more than 2.5 million post 9/11 military veterans that have served our nation Over 2 million served in Afghanistan and Iraq, spending 1 out of 3 years serving overseas. 30% of vets have disabilities as a result of their service. Over 48,000 vets are homeless or at risk. 40.7% Feel like a “guest” in their own homes. 84% of veterans say that the American public has “little awareness” of the challenges facing them and their families. 60% are under the age of 34. 22 veterans commit suicides daily, with 1 occurring roughly every 80 minutes. The number is higher for Special Forces. 71 % of Americans say that they don’t understand the problems faced by those who have served since Sept. 11. 88% Joined the Military to SERVE our Nation. 94% are PROUD OF THEIR SERVICE! Soldier’s Best Friend's mission is to provide U.S. military veterans living with combat-related Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD) or Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) with Service or Therapeutic Companion Dogs, most of which are rescued from local shelters. The veteran and dog train together to build a trusting relationship that touches two lives at once and inspires countless others. For many veterans, the transition from military to civilian life brings new challenges, and the companionship of a service dog can be a true lifeline. Each veteran-dog team is a testament to resilience, compassion, and the power of healing together. Working with Soldier’s Best Friend to secure funding means every dollar raised goes toward allowing these life-changing partnerships to flourish. This is the FINAL week of our Freedom Drive raising funds for veterans, military personnel, and first responders recovering from trauma. We are asking you to consider supporting Ten Ten Life as we help these heroes experience healing and wholeness again. As you prepare for and celebrate the 4th of July, our American Independence Day, consider being a part of giving back to those who provide and protect that freedom. We want to give them the gift of mental and emotional freedom in their daily lives. Your donation can enable a veteran to access effective trauma-informed mental health care that was previously out of reach or too expensive. Or your donation can empower a retired firefighter to create a new path forward full of hope and possibilities through working with a professional coach. Ten Ten Life provides access to these services, but we are a donor-supported nonprofit and need your help. Our goal is to reach $10K in donations by the end of 4th of July weekend, which will unlock a 100% matching donation! All funds donated will go toward helping Military Personnel, Veterans, and First Responders access the highest quality trauma-informed Counseling and Professional Coaching services they need to experience healing and wholeness.
