#Worldmentalhealthday (10 Oct) is a day to talk about mental health and show everyone that mental health matters. It’s also a day to let people know that it’s okay to ask for help, no matter what you’re going through. We’d like you to share messages and /or a green heart 💚 of kindness to anyone who may need to see them right now and remind them that they’re not alone. Need support? No matter the reason we may all need a helping hand from time to time. If you are struggling right now, always remember that there are lots of incredible charities, organisations, community groups who want to help you, including: @stockportmind @beechwoodccc @opendoor_stockport @fikawelie @samaritanscharity @beaconcounselling @tlc_charity @shiningalightonsuicide @kooth_uk and many more. We will continue to highlight more amazing support lines and services but you can also head to ‘Advice & Info’ on our website to find local services. One of the most important steps you can take is to start talking and be kind to yourself. #worldmentalhealthday #everymindmatters #mind #mentalhealth #therapy #monthofhope #mentalhealthmatters #mentalhealthawareness #youmatter #selflove #mentalhealthrecovery #youarenotalone #selfcare #counselling #bekindtoyourself #supporteachother #stockport #stockportcommunity #healthwatchstockport #healthwatch #healthcare #socialcare #healthandsocialcare #healthystockport #greatermanchester #greatermanchesterhealth #livewellstockport #wellbeing

This month, Togetherall is partnering with Movember, a leading global men’s health charity, to bring awareness to men's mental health. "Men’s health is complex and influenced by many factors—like where they live, their communities, their behaviors, and attitudes. Togetherall's online mental health support community offers a welcoming and non-judgmental space where individuals can interact anonymously, share their feelings, and connect with others who understand what they’re going through." Fortunately, LewerBenefits offers access to, the Togetherall North America community. In just 10 days, I’ll be 🏃♂️running the Dublin Marathon to support Action Mental Health a charity dedicated to improving mental well-being. Here are some alarming statistics about men’s mental health in particular: 1. Suicide Rates: Men are nearly 3.5 times more likely to die by suicide than women, with the highest rates in middle-aged men aged 25-44. 2. Mental Health Diagnosis: Approximately 1 in 5 men will experience a mental health issue during their lifetime, yet men are less likely than women to seek treatment. 3. Help-Seeking Behaviour: Only about 36% of men with mental health issues seek help, compared to about 50% of women. 4. Youth and Mental Health: Half of all mental health conditions start by age 14, and three-quarters by mid-20s. Early intervention is crucial for improving long-term outcomes. As I prepare for this challenge, I’m reminded of the urgent need to raise awareness and support for men’s mental health. Your support can truly make a difference! If you'd like to contribute, please visit my fundraising page: https://lnkd.in/egbjug5n Together, we can promote mental well-being and support those who need it most. Thank you for your support! #MentalHealth #MensMentalHealthAwareness #DublinMarathon #RunForACause

Mental health is finally getting the attention it deserves. The Biden Administration recently ensured insurance coverage for mental health care - a huge step forward. But did you know that South Asians or Desis are 3 times less likely to seek help compared to the average American? At Rcoz, we're working to change this narrative. Many in our community struggle in silence, lacking the vocabulary or awareness to begin their mental health journey. That's why we're hosting a special fundraiser lunch to break the stigma and start crucial conversations. Join us on September 13th in San Francisco. 🗓️ When: September 13th, 11 AM – 1 PM 📍 Where: Google Community Space, 188 The Embarcadero, San Francisco At Rcoz, we're sharing real stories that resonate with our community. We're creating a space where it's okay to talk about mental health so that care is accessed sooner rather than later. This lunch is your chance to learn about our mission and how you can make a difference. "Do. Something" Ready to be part of the change? Register here: https://lnkd.in/gxaRnWiZ For more information, reach out to us at info@rcoz.us Let's work together to create real change in our community.
