🌍 Day 9 of #16DaysOfActivism: Amplifying Voices, Driving Inclusion 🌟 Today, on the International Day of Persons with Disabilities (#IDPD), Let's pause to reflect on the intersecting struggles faced by persons with disabilities in the fight against Gender-Based Violence (GBV). Persons with disabilities especially women and girls are disproportionately affected by violence, abuse, and discrimination. They often face unique barriers to accessing justice, support systems, and basic human rights, exacerbated by societal stigma and systemic inequalities. The theme for the 2024 International Day of Persons with Disabilities (IDPD) is "Amplifying the Leadership of Persons with Disabilities for an Inclusive and Sustainable Future" which aligns perfectly with the call for an inclusive approach to ending GBV. Inclusion is not just a principle; it is a practice. It means ensuring that policies, programs, and interventions address the unique needs and rights of persons with disabilities. Today, let’s commit to creating a world where no one is left behind where everyone can live free from violence, regardless of ability. Let's continue to build a future where inclusion is the norm and safety is universal. 💙 #16Days #EndGBV #IDPD2023 #InclusionMatters #DisabilityRights #AccessibleFuture

Today is the UN International Day for Persons with Disabilities, which recognizes the role of disabled persons in creating positive change across our world. This year's theme is "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future." Here at Tagg Design, we are proud to provide opportunities for disabled individuals to participate in decision-making processes, learn new trade-specific skills, and play a regular role in business operations. This makes up 66% of our workforce - which is remarkable for a business of our scale. In fact, this entire post here was written by one of those individuals with disabilities, which further reaffirms our commitment. Nothing for persons with disabilities without persons with disabilities. As we observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence (GBV), it's crucial to remember that true inclusion means ensuring that the voices of persons with disabilities are heard and represented in every conversation about safety, rights, and equality. People with disabilities face unique and often heightened vulnerabilities to gender-based violence, yet their experiences and needs are frequently overlooked in efforts to address #GBV. To create a truly inclusive and effective response to violence, we must ensure that persons with disabilities are not only beneficiaries but also leaders in advocacy, policy-making, and support systems. This #16Days of Activism, let's commit to no solution without inclusion. Let us stand together to ensure that everyone, including persons with disabilities, has the power to live free from violence and discrimination. #GBV #DisabilityInclusion #16Days #AccessibilityMatters #EndViolence #DisabilityRights #Inclusion #Empowerment

Helen Keller once said, "Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much." This quote beautifully encapsulates the spirit of #inclusion. On this International Day of Persons with Disabilities, we celebrate the resilience, talent, and immense contributions of individuals with disabilities. This day serves as a reminder that true progress lies in our ability to recognize 'abilities within disabilities' and create spaces where everyone can thrive. I understand we all have a collective responsibility to foster environments that embrace inclusivity, whether at work, in our communities, or in the corporate world. Supporting people with disabilities goes beyond #empathy; it is about recognizing their potential, providing opportunities, and addressing systemic barriers. We need to work together for a supportive world for them- free from hate, free from self-judgment, and free from bias. With even the smallest effort, we can champion inclusion, amplify diverse voices, and inspire others to do the same. The choice is yours! #WeAreOne #IDPWD #InclusionMatters #AbilityNotDisability #InternationalDayOfPersonsWithDisabilities

Today, we commemorate the International Day for Persons with Disabilities 2024. This year’s theme, "Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future," reminds us of the critical role persons with disabilities play in shaping a more just and equitable world. "Nothing About Us Without Us" is a powerful slogan that underscores the essence of inclusion: ensuring active participation, representation, and leadership by persons with disabilities in all areas of life. For decades, persons with disabilities and their organizations have led the charge, championing equal access to services, driving community-led initiatives, and advancing inclusive development. Their advocacy and resilience continue to inspire progress and transformation. Let’s amplify their leadership and create a world that leaves no one behind. #IDPD2024 #NothingAboutUsWithoutUs #YOWO #Inclusion #DisabilityRights

Today, December 3rd, we celebrate The International Day of Persons with Disabilities—a day to honor the strength, contributions, and rights of people with disabilities worldwide. People like my incredible daughter, Frankie. 🧡💙 This year’s theme, “Amplifying the leadership of persons with disabilities for an inclusive and sustainable future,” highlights the importance of disability-inclusive leadership. As a mum to a child with disabilities and complex needs, I see every day how much potential, resilience, and brilliance people with disabilities bring to the world when given the opportunity to thrive. Because a person needs more, doesn’t mean they are less deserving of a good life. More needs to be done in healthcare, education, law, NDIS, government, community and society to support, embrace and include people with disabilities. Equal rights are human rights. Let’s break barriers, challenge stereotypes, and build a future where everyone’s voice is heard and valued. Inclusion isn’t just a goal; it’s a responsibility we all share. 💙🧡 #IDPWD2024 #InclusionMatters #DisabilityAwareness #SustainableFuture #equality #accessability #respect #equalopportunity #equalrights #humanrights #inclusion #raredisease #raregenetics #autism #neurodiversity #adhd #globaldevelopmentaldelay #physicaldisability #intellectualdisability #care #kindness #respect

Today, on the International Day of People with Disabilities, we celebrate the resilience, talents, and contributions of individuals with disabilities while acknowledging the challenges they face in our communities. It is crucial to highlight that people with disabilities, especially women and girls, are disproportionately at risk of gender-based violence (GBV). Limited access to support systems, stigmatization, and societal barriers often leave them more vulnerable to physical, emotional, and financial abuse. As we observe the 16 Days of Activism Against Gender-Based Violence, let us take a stand to create inclusive and safe spaces where every individual, regardless of ability, can thrive free from violence and discrimination. Together, we can advocate for accessible services, stronger policies, and a culture of respect that leaves no one behind. Let us all commit to supporting individuals with disabilities in our fight against GBV.
