I’m currently attending ADIPEC 2024, one of the world’s largest energy industry exhibitions, held in Abu Dhabi, the capital of the United Arab Emirates. On the opening day, H.E. Dr. Sultan Al Jaber, Minister of Industry and Advanced Technology and Managing Director & Group CEO of ADNEC, delivered the keynote address. This was followed by a panel discussion featuring leaders from BP, Shell, Eni, Petronas, and ADNEC. Topics included geopolitical risks facing the energy industry, the potential impact of the upcoming U.S. presidential election, oil prices and demand, and the International Energy Agency’s forecast for peak oil demand by 2030. Additionally, discussions touched on the surging power demands for data centers amid AI’s rapid growth, as well as the most promising approaches to business diversification. Today, the Maritime & Logistics Conference is also taking place. Key topics will include the role of shipping in stabilizing the economy, building a low-carbon fuel supply chain, ports’ readiness for alternative fuels, and the role of digital technologies in enhancing safety and operational efficiency.

A vote for PREMET X is a vote for engine efficiency. We are delighted to announce that our new PREMET X range of fuel injection acoustic emissions sensors have been shortlisted for a GREEN4SEA Energy Efficiency Award. As this prestigious Award is decided by an industry panel of experts and an open voting process, we encourage all our colleagues, customers and partners to support the nomination. Voting is open until 24th of January 2025. Awards Winners will be announced during the 14th GREEN4SEA Athens Forum, on Wednesday 12th of March 2025. The new PREMET X Fuel Injection Acoustic Emissions Sensor allows engineers to monitor the acoustic signature of a diesel engine’s fuel injection system to detect any problems with fuel injectors, nozzles, and pumps. If undetected this can lead to poor engine performance, increased fuel consumption, increased emissions and potentially engine failure. Our Fuel Injection Acoustic Emissions Sensor gives marine engineers all the information they need to achieve optimum engine performance, fuel consumption and emissions data. The GREEN4SEA Energy Efficiency Award is awarded to any organization that provided a significant achievement, breakthrough or contribution in any aspect of energy efficiency in shipping. When live, you will be able to cast your vote at https://lnkd.in/ewGcqVg7 #marineengines #marinefuel #ships #shipping #maritime #emissions #bunkering #combustion #energyefficiency

Do you know the SPIRIT Horizon Europe Project? SPIRIT is a European Project aiming at implementing sustainable heat-upgrade technologies for industry. Are you a company in the food & beverage, paper, chemical or other types of industry? They need your feedback! In the framework of the SPIRIT project, the European Heat Pump Association is assessing the integration potential of heat pumps in process industries. The results of this survey will inform policy briefs and two reports aiming at investigating the policy and regulatory barriers to a faster roll-out of industrial heat pumps in the EU and also the skills that are needed for the sector. Take the survey to express your opinion on the topic here: https://lnkd.in/eQcywtWr Some survey details: 📝 Format: Close-ended questions ⏳ Time: ~8 minutes 🔒 Confidentiality: Responses are aggregated for privacy The project next newsletter is planned for September, time to register!
🚀 Exciting progress is being made by the SPIRIT Partners at our three project demonstration sites! While our teams work on integrating the high temperature heat pumps into the three plants, we're also preparing the 4th edition of the SPIRIT newsletter. 📣 If you are interested in the progress made within the pilots and in the upcoming events that we will be organising, subscribe to the project biannual newsletter here ! ➡ https://lnkd.in/dX4vFKj6 📬 Next issue: September 2024!

OCIMF was pleased to represent and attend the International Marine Contractors Association's (IMCA) Global Summit in Utrecht, The Netherlands earlier this month. The two-day summit had been designed to bring industry together to explore current issues, share best practice and debate possible solutions. The programme was an engaging mix of interactive panel discussions, keynote speeches and presentations with subjects ranging from an analysis of future energy markets, the future demand for offshore vessels and sustainability. Day 2 focused heavily on the human element including engaging talks by Todd Conklin on Human and Organisational Principals (HOP) and an impactful final keynote ‘Last Breath’ by Chris Lemons, the saturation diver who survived on the seabed following a severed umbilical. Thank you to IMCA (International Marine Contractors Association) for hosting this engaging event. We look forward to further collaboration on these important industry issues.
