A comprehensive understanding of GBV must also consider intersectionality—the ways in which race, class, sexual orientation, and other identities intersect with gender to create unique experiences of violence. For example, women of color or LGBTQ+ individuals may face additional barriers when seeking help or justice due to systemic discrimination. Incorporating an intersectional approach into GBV research and intervention strategies will enhance their effectiveness.

Pride Month serves as a reminder of the ongoing journey towards diversity, equity and inclusion (DEI). The global LGBTQ+ community still faces challenges such as discrimination, stigma, and unequal rights. By recognising Pride Month, we are creating a safe and supportive environment for everyone, irrespective of their sexual orientation or gender identity. DEI is part of BRIGGS Core Values -'People First' (https://lnkd.in/eqWmrPzi) and also identified in our Sustainability Programme 'Process and Progress' - Future Workforce. (https://lnkd.in/eJ_SNeAt)
