We are looking to hire a design manager at ProducePay, If you think you want a cushy job, stop reading. I'm not going to sugarcoat it. This will be the most challenging job in your career. Startups are hard, especially in a space like the produce industry. You'll navigate designs for a global produce supply chain, cross-border payments, disinformation, fraud, bankruptcy, and razor-thin margins... And be involved with making a viable financial institution that enables end-to-end supply chain visibility and deal economics in a graveyard of failed ag-tech startups. This isn't a simple "make an app" kind of problem. Many have tried and failed in that regard. You must be an information architecture and service design expert and not be afraid to engage in the necessary politics with a passionate group of leaders. You will start as a manager, expected to build up the design team. But I'll be honest: IC work is a job requirement at this company stage. It would be best if you were up to speed on your craft. We are too small not to get our hands dirty at all levels. We need a "pioneer," not a "settler," for this role. The chance of failure is high, but honor and recognition in case of success. This is a once-in-a-lifetime career opportunity. If you ever wondered if you had what it takes to make something that does 10x better than the status quo, here's your shot. If it's any consolation, we are a global (by necessity) remote-first company. The produce supply chain is distributed, and we must also be so.
