Is it feasible to use an existing bin or trash cart to collect a second resource on a different day? This is currently being trialed where I am currently living. They are using the existing “blue bin”—meant for paper and cardboard—to collect other plastic items that aren’t packaging, once a month. This might be a fantastic way to increase the diversion of resources without adding extra costs for additional infrastructure. What do you think?
Yes, great idea, it got me thinking if you go up the pipe you have a sunny spot, a large plastic container being manufactured for a use by a willing and educated public....on that basis every home could have a #Verdia which would then lead to public health benefits and less store bought consumption, associated plastic and food waste recycling, no truck infrastructure required Public recycling globally starting at these bins hadn't really covered itself in glory in the last two decades, and we are still far from optimal Compare our (NZ) major city:s foodwaste solution to home composting. The waste leaves the bin for an AD plant 3.5 hours down country if you were driving at highway speed. Kerbside recycling is like Temu... It delivers to our kerb a service that involves shipping valueless shite around a polluted planet when 1st world humanity could do with less consumption, and solving problems much closer to home in my hippy view....

4moI would find this confusing. Also I am accumulating waste steams over a time period, where would I put the plastic? Wouldn't I have to create my own infrastructure? How are you keeping them separated?
