U.S. births hit 45-year low The United States is experiencing a 45-year low in birth rates, with the total fertility rate dropping to 1.6, below the replacement level of 2.1. Factors contributing to this decline include the increasing demands of balancing work and family life, economic and social challenges faced by women, and changing societal expectations regarding parenting. The declining birth rates are impacting the demographic structure of the country and raising concerns about economic growth and caring for an aging population in the future. The trend of decreasing fertility rates is a global phenomenon, with many developed countries experiencing similar declines. Population growth in high-income countries is expected to rely heavily on immigration in the coming years. #AsiaOperations #Demographics #China Follow us for daily updates on risk and operations in Asia! https://lnkd.in/gfDD6ghJ

Prof. Vina Adriany emphasized the timeless wisdom encapsulated in the phrase 'It takes a village to raise a child.' This adage serves as a poignant reminder of the crucial involvement not only of parents but also of the broader community in fostering the development of future generations. By embracing the concept that 'parenting is a shared responsibility,' she urged a paradigm shift away from viewing parenting as solely an individual or maternal obligation towards recognizing it as a collaborative endeavor that engages diverse stakeholders in nurturing our children. Together, we can nurture the next generation with love, support, and collaboration.
