Exciting Milestone at the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW We're excited to share the success of our vernissage at the Basel Academy of Art and Design FHNW, which will be open for visitors until 30th November! The event highlights groundbreaking projects from the Incubator for Design Cultures, including Michaela Maintz's project, developed in collaboration with the Department of Biomedical Engineering | University of Basel and Fachhochschule Nordwestschweiz FHNW (Institute for Medical Engineering and Medical Informatics). A standout innovation, mentored by Tino Stanković and Sven Herrmann and supervised by Florian M. Thieringer, Daniel Seiler and Michael de Wild, focuses on custom mandibular fracture implants. Through advanced algorithms, topology optimization, and 3D printing, these implants are tailored to each patient’s anatomy and fracture pattern. Virtual testing ensures they withstand real-life forces like chewing, while their lightweight, efficient design improves durability and biocompatibility. On-site production further enhances efficiency and patient outcomes. Don’t miss the chance to experience this exciting intersection of design and healthcare innovation—visit the exhibition before it closes! #3DPrinting #PointOfCare #HealthcareInnovation #Medical3DPrinting #SwissMAM #3DPrintLab #TeamUSB #DBE #UniBasel #FHNW #IncubatorForDesignCultures #BiomedicalInnovation #MandibularFractures #HealthcareDesign #Vernissage
