In conventional matting agents, micron-sized particles contribute to surface roughness, imparting a matte appearance to coatings. Although they yield a matte surface, their distribution across the entire film results in limited transparency. Achieving burnishing resistance is often a challenge, particularly with silica-based matting agents. In addition, the settling of pigments in the coating is problematic, leading to uneven distribution and potential optical inconsistencies. 💨The production process of blown film #GEOMEMBRANE is a three-layer co-extrusion #blow molding production method. 🌟The production process is to feed the raw materials into the die head of the blow molding machine through three heating #screws, where they are heated and melted into a melt. 🌟The melt is #extruded out of the die head under pressure and forms a cylindrical shape at the die head. the compressed air is blown upward through the die head to form a film bubble of a certain diameter, which is #stretched upward and cooled by the traction roller to form a #geomembrane. 🌟After curling and extending downward, the geomembrane is stretched through the film expansion frame and finally rolled into a #roll. 🔥The advantages of the blow molding process are #uniform thickness of the geomembrane, high #tensile strength, and stable membrane quality. Florian stated that we have an exciting microstructure to share from Florian Pletz (Instagram). “I discovered my little Christmas tree inside a cast copper-tin-zinc alloy. I prepared this piece just to make a colourful metallographic picture. At first I embedded my sample with epoxy resin and then grinded it down with SiC paper #220 up to #4000. I did the polishing manually in just two steps with 3µm diamond suspension for 3 minutes on a DP-Dac cloth and with 50nm OP-S + ammonia + hydrogen peroxide solution for 1-2 minutes on an OP-Chem cloth. I etched the sample with Klemm II. After the first etching, polishing and re-etching the surface often gives better results. Klemm II makes segregations visible, and every grain has a different colour, depending on the crystal orientation. The microstructure is dendritic alpha grains with α-δ eutectoid phase in the interdendritic spaces. I found a pointed grain that grew into another grain and used polarized light to change the colours a little bit. Fortunately, it turned into a white/green colour combination." The carbon fiber filament winding process. This process involves winding carbon fiber filaments under tension over a rotating mandrel, with the filaments impregnated with resin as they are wound onto the mandrel. Once the mandrel is completely covered, the resin is cured. Process basically is a continuous fiber tows are fed through a fiber delivery system to the filament winding machine, where they are wound on to a mandrel in a predetermined, repeating geometric pattern. The tow location is guided by a fiber delivery head, which is attached to a movable carriage on the filament winding machine. The relative angle of the tow to the mandrel axis, called the winding angle, can be tailored to provide strength and stiffness in the desired directions. When sufficient layers of tow have been applied, the resulting laminate is cured on the mandrel. The overall size and shape of the finished part are determined by the mandrel shape and thickness of the laminate.
