📰 Fresh off the press: EIT efficiency and added-value recognised in latest Horizon Europe Report 🌟 The latest independent European Commission evaluation study of Horizon Europe found: 🌍 Activities of the EIT KICs generate ‘added societal value’ 💶 EIT leverage effect turns every 1 euro spent ➡ up to 8 euros in private capital raised ⏲ EIT demonstrated efficiency and agility with its time to grant figures twice as fast as the average for Horizon Europe 📈 the EIT budget can reach maximum impact with performance based funding 📍 the EIT is successfully tackling Europe’s geographic innovation gap through its on-the-ground co-location centres and EIT Regional Innovation Scheme (RIS) hubs. 🚺 the EIT brought down barriers to women’s participation in Europe’s innovation ecosystem None of this would be possible without the commitment of #EITCommunity partners, the passion of EIT Community learners and entrepreneurs, and the determination of our EIT KICs to deliver. Evaluation Study of EIT shows: - 57% of participation in 2021-22 entrepreneurial education courses was from women - 35% of students and graduates of EIT Labelled MSc and PhD programmes were women, helping advance women’s participation in Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics (STEAM) fields - 24% of start-ups created through EIT innovation projects in the period 2021 - - 2022 are led by women, with 10% of the start-ups created by EIT women students and graduates

The recently published 2024 edition of the #EuropeanInnovationScoreboard #EIS highlighted Ireland's continued progression on the scoreboard. In 2023 Ireland was ranked 9th, while the 2024 edition of the EIS has seen Ireland climb to 7th place overall. The annual #EIS provides a comparative assessment of the R&I performance of EU Member States (and selected third countries) and the relative strengths and weaknesses of their research and innovation systems. During the second annual #GROW event in April we were delighted with a foreword by Nienke Buisman, Deputy Director/Head of Unit International Cooperation in R&I at the European Commission. Research & Innovation (R&I) contributes to sustainable and inclusive development, economic growth and job generation in both the African Union (AU) and European Union (EU), thereby reducing poverty and inequalities. Supported by the Marie Skłodowska-Curie fonds and #HorizonEurope, GROW plays an important role in strengthening Research and Innovation (R&I) cooperation between the AU and EU. Falling under the Capacities for Sciences priority, GROW’s Triple-I approach allows for the creation of a science, technology and innovation environment for sustainable knowledge & innovation ecosystems in Africa and Europe. Buisman explains: ”I firmly believe that the GROW platform will strengthen our long-term partnership in promoting excellent research & innovation”. GROW contributes to supporting scientific and academic mobility opportunities, overcoming the lack of qualified personnel and increasing employability chances for youth to limit and counteract talent drain.
