Pause, reflect, and embrace the upcoming year with a fresh outlook! Gone are the days when we used to ask for New Year resolutions, as many of them never truly took flight. However, in my perspective, it’s always valuable to recalibrate. December serves as a time for reflection, both personally and professionally. It marks the end of the year, offering an opportunity to assess progress, celebrate accomplishments, and prepare for the year ahead. 🌞 Is Summer the New January? At the start of the year, we all focused on January as the time for fresh starts—the usual “New Year, New Us” mindset. However, there’s a growing trend to treat summer not just as the dry patch you have to survive, hiding in the office, but as a natural check-in point. While people rest and recover on their vacations and the heat intensifies, there’s a natural tendency to slow down. This allows us to focus on systematic thinking, rather than getting buried under countless to-dos and busy calendars. During the long summer days, we took the chance to: 👉 Recharge and rest, taking time away from our daily responsibilities 👉 Bring in new ideas and perspectives 👉 Focus on our overarching goals and strategies 👉 Review our progress on projects 👉 Regroup and realign our priorities 👉 Build strategies and plans for the last busy stretch of the year Now, as summer comes to a close, we feel focused and ready for the rest of the year! 💪 Did you turn summer into a mid-year reset? #bishopco #bishopcolifestyle

The overwhelming optimism of the New Year is too much to handle. So much so that I feel there’s an intense pressure to leave the bad and embrace the good as soon as you enter the year. And if you don’t, it turns into self-disappointment and guilt in no time. I have literally been there so many times; it sucks. That’s why, this time, I’m doing something different. Instead of entering this New Year with full force, I’m entering with gentleness and a little planning. Meaning, I’m not working on my resolutions from Jan 1st, but I am starting now — a little early. Writing on LinkedIn is one very important habit I want to restart in 2025. Instead of doing that from Jan 1st, I’m starting now. It’ll (hopefully) help in 2 ways: 1. December is comparatively relaxed workwise. This free time will make it easy to integrate this new habit = reduced overwhelm. 2. If I start right now, that habit will be firmly established in my routine by the time it’s mid-Jan. Honestly, I don’t know how this will turn out. But I’m excited and (moderately) optimistic to see this in action. What’s your relation with New Year resolutions?

Why is it a thing to come up with new year's resolutions? Yes it is the time of year again! Once the pre-christmas havoc makes room for the lazy days of endless eating everyone around you declares what their new year's resolutions will be. Most of the time it comes from people that have not reflected on their goals the whole year. Not even once... well at least not since the last week of December the previous year. So why now? Well it somehow became a thing to see the new year as a new start, a new chance, a clean slate. But what if you would do that at the end of every month? Or even every week? Why not use the energy of this reflection and goal setting throughout the year? Imagine where you could be by the end of the year! You would have a head start of 51 weeks to everyone else around you. Maybe this could be your new year's resolution for 2025 😉

I’ve been reflecting on the rollercoaster that is Q4 in our industry. If we are honest, it’s always a bit of a slog, but I am ending the year on such a positive note, with two exciting new client projects lined up to kick off the new year! Q1 is one of my favourite times—there’s something so refreshing about a clean slate. It’s the perfect moment to mix things up: rethinking reporting, tweaking meetings, sparking new ideas, and diving into fresh strategies. For those clients who felt like 2024 got away from them, it’s the ideal time to regroup and start strong. While I am lucky that one team is at full client capacity until Q2, this early momentum is such a great way to approach the year ahead—not rushed, but purposeful. I love that balance of starting fresh while still having space to be creative. And let’s be honest: I’m also living for the upcoming break. A chance to recharge and soak up some festive cheer is precisely what the doctor ordered before jumping into what’s shaping up to be an exciting year. Here’s to a restful Christmas and a bright start to 2025 for us all! 🌟 #FreshStart #ClientSuccess #Q1Momentum #HolidayReady
