Wanted to share a quick nugget from our early days at #Blozum that speaks volumes about the startup grind, especially in B2B. Gaining initial traction felt like moving mountains. Case in point: It took us a solid 3 months to onboard our first significant client. Yes, three painstaking months for one client! But here’s the twist – this collaboration turned into a goldmine of insights. Working closely with them was a game-changer. It not only refined our product but reshaped our understanding of what our clients truly needed. This intense period of collaboration and feedback was the clarity we didn’t know we needed. This journey underscored a vital startup mantra: Stick it out. The early challenges are not just hurdles; they're stepping stones to deeper insights and stronger offerings. So, to my fellow founders, we have learnt that every small win counts. I once told an early-stage VC that I was thinking of creating a CRM product. Their exact reply was: “Oh, that's brave!” But I know they meant that that was a stupid decision. 😀 The CRM market is very competitive. Who in their right mind would want to start another CRM company? Apparently, I did. It’s been over 12 years since I had this conversation. We now have a profitable and growing company in a highly competitive market. We went from 0 → revenue in just 4 days. Here’s how⬇️ This was a big win after struggling to attract customers quickly in our previous venture. For our current startup, we: → Built an MVP in 4 weeks → Won a £100,000 Government Innovation grant in 6 weeks → Became revenue generating in just 4 days (from going live) Here’s what we did differently this time: ➡️In my previous startup, we focused too much on the product. ➡️This time it was customers first. ➡️Customers and revenue. We focused on these 3 things while building our startup: 1. Deeply understanding customer's pain points 2. Efficiently solving those pain points 3.
