Chenab Bridge (District- Reasi, J&K):- The total length of the bridge is 1315 m. The free span length of the bridge is 467 m measured from the surface of the river below, the height of the bridge deck is 350 m. Thus, the Chenab Bridge is the tallest and longest-spanning railway bridge of its type in the world.

Market Launch of the VULKARDAN F35 and F42 The VULKARDAN F is the further development of the VULKARDAN E, which has been established for many years, and complements highly flexible VULKAN couplings below the RATO R torque range. The highly flexible coupling, which is used in freely installed systems and flexibly installed systems for main drives, auxiliary drives and power generation, is now also available in sizes F35 and F42. The F35/42 follow the same design principles as the other VULKARDAN F couplings, but are significantly less rigid than their VULKARDAN E counterparts. Thus, the VULKARDAN F35 and F42 are - together with their predecessor VULKARDAN E K40 - currently the softest couplings in their class on the market and specially designed to avoid gearbox rattling noise. Congratulation for the great job done by all members of this IATECH AG and a special big thanks to Benoit Jones for leading this group and make this document ready for the WTC 2024 About 60-80% of the carbon footprint of tunnel construction is embodied in the concrete linings. So let’s focus on that! We should use every lever available to reduce CO2e emissions, but we should focus first on the areas we can make the biggest difference. In most cases this will be to reduce the volume of concrete in tunnel linings, and to reduce the Portland cement content of that concrete. The second biggest source of CO2e emissions in the lining is the reinforcement. Replacing conventional steel bar reinforcement with fibre reinforcement can reduce this footprint in many cases. Designers, constructors and suppliers must work together to achieve reductions of CO2e emissions in design and construction, and this collaboration must be incentivised by the client.  Finally, it is up to us as tunnel engineers to rise to this challenge and to reduce C02.

First EAEU tram to be launched in Kazakhstan built with Chinese participation   Temirtau is anticipating a trial run of a single-car tram in early October. The move is part of the restoration of the city’s tram service, which includes the purchase of eight trams. The project is being implemented through the efforts of Qarmet, which owns the local Karaganda Metallurgical Plant (formerly belonged to ArcelorMittal).   The city has already received one tram, but it is not known when the rest will arrive or what model they will be.   No information is available regarding the origin of the trams. Despite KTK TV’s report that the trams were purchased in China, their livery bears the logo of the QazTehna factory in Saran, a town in the same region of Kazakhstan. This is a joint venture established in 2021 with the Chinese company Yutong to assemble buses and construction machinery. This makes the tram launched in Temirtau the first in the Eurasian Economic Union built with the Chinese participation.   The tram service in Temirtau was available for passengers from1959 to 2023.
