Freelancing: Good or Bad? 🤨 I have been freelancing on and off for good 3 years now. These three years consisted of long breaks thanks to burnout and dry periods of no work. I’ve had the privilege of seeing my income fluctuate beautifully like the sine wave and having my heart almost jump out of my body at the sound of discovery calls. 🙈 But, but, but! I will not change any of it for the world. Why? Because I don’t believe anything in life is inherently good or bad. (barring the foundational ethics and humanitarian grounds of right and wrong) 🤷♀️ Our perspective colors our experience as black or white or something in between. Of course, freelancing may not guarantee the sweetness of a fixed monthly salary and the convenience of logging out at 5 pm/6 pm. (Yes, I found it comfortable when I had it.) But then freelancing allows you to work with - Ambitious entrepreneurs - Passionate innovators - Creative mavericks And freelancing is a boon for someone (like me) who isn’t a big fan of routine and repetitive tasks. 😌 I have found my 'why' - To keep exploring the next path and pushing my own limits in terms of professional growth and personal development. I have a reason to - show up consistently. - improve myself. - serve my clients. What is your why? Tell me in the comments section.
This is the glory of freelancing that things will not be easy, especially in the beginning. But you are consistent because you know what you are doing also you believe in yourself. We are also having multiple challenges every single day and that's what we have chosen for ourselves, we knew that it would happen of course the challenges are bigger than our imagination. My why is: I always wanted to start a business and I do enjoy the process.
Love the flow and core messaging of the post, Parna. It's never been a bed of roses, everyone who's authentic about their journey knows that there will be turbulence and hiccups in the journey. But it's better to tighten your seat belts if you've made up your mind to give it a try. My why is: To start something from scratch, something that I feel proud of that I made. Something that I enjoy doing every single day and don't question my decision every new quarter or when I see the revenue charts. #touchwood.
I love breaking my limits. I love the dope feeling of becoming numb after working for countless hours on my own business. #We are fighters, We are Dreamers, we are Achievers🤘🤘🤘 #Happy to be a part of your connection. I love the way you bring your light on every aspect of business.
Not only, this freelancing journey has full of roses but also full of thorns.. I am into the starting phase now.. Many people get lot of struggles if they don't have back up thing like me. If we have right road map, it is possible to make bucks more than the job we had before.. What do you say Parna Joshi ?? 🙂
Freelancing is boon to me too. I have my ease of work. I directly deal with my clients, no middle man. No chance of miscommunication. Always grateful
I relate to this post, I also switched from 9-5 to full time freelancing and had a lot of no work & break days. I also don't want to change anything regarding this decision of mine.
My 'why' is to get financial independence while doing what I love. :) Loved the read. Parna Joshi
