In Peru, we are supporting MINAM in the development and validation of a conceptual proposal for the processes, procedures, and functions necessary for the operationalization of the monitoring and evaluation system for the adaptation measures outlined in the NDCs. This effort is part of the project PAF23-T1-15 "Implementing Actions of the National Adaptation Plan" - Peru. Excellent climate sustainability news out of South Africa as the ruling African National Congress party mandates a cap on large emitters and requires every town and city to publish an adaption plan. This ruling is well timed as the country continues its efforts to fully electrify and requiring sustainability plans is an outstanding way to integrate these efforts at the grassroots level. I’m encouraged to see this level of broad adoption! South Africa’s leadership sets an important example to its neighbors and the rest of the world. 🌟 𝐃𝐢𝐝 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐊𝐧𝐨𝐰? Egypt is currently dealing with a critical water challenge, facing an annual water deficit of around seven billion cubic meters. UN experts warn that the country could run out of water by 2025, as climate change worsens the crisis. Denmark, however, offers valuable insights into addressing such challenges. By combining innovative regulation, advanced technology, and strong political commitment, Denmark now treats 95% of its wastewater. As part of its environmental strategy, Denmark is aiming for energy and climate neutrality by 2030.
