Miles, Senior Director, Live Event Workflows - NBC Sports & Olympics - Mario Reis, Director - Olympic Broadcasting Services Moderator: - Ken Kerschbaumer, Editorial Director - SVG Europe During the session, the OBS representative explained how an OB van is entirely virtualized, while the BeIN representative, with a more traditional setup, expressed no interest in moving to ST 2110 or the cloud. He described a conservative approach, noting that his headend needs to operate daily under various constraints, unlike a one-off event. This is a good summary of where our industry stands in terms of new technology adoption, with both technological and financial limitations. INSIGHT: IBC'24 conferences digest   I was not able to attend the IBC conferences this year as planned but was fortunate to see them in replay on the IBC website.   After a thorough scanning, I have selected 3 conferences along 2 themes.   The first theme is a tech one around premium sports, where we will hear about the cloud/IP migration for Olympics, then we will discover what is the bleeding edge in extremely low latency at extremely high scale.
