Provocation: What if we chose (today) to live in equitable interdependence with the living and non-living world? This is the provocation I asked during the Hakuba Forum last month. This provocation is meant for us to think both long and short term: How are we changing our ways of being today to be a good ancestor for those coming seven generations after us? I am grateful to have been guided in an exercise where I could engage the more-than-human world for advice and wisdom, and it has fundamentally changed how I walk through the world and how I consider my own interdependence with other living and non-living beings. How are you stepping into interdependence with the more-than-human world? What would it mean to live this provocation daily? What would that mean seven generations from now? https://lnkd.in/e3a6SQGB

🌍 Empowering Youth for Community Leadership: A Step Towards Sustainable Development 🌱 On 10th September 2024, Samerth successfully organized an interactive workshop with 15 passionate youth cadres, led by Krupaben Dholakia. The workshop began with an insightful session on the concept of Youth Cadres and their vital role in community leadership. Through engaging group activities, the participants got to know each other better, followed by a social mapping exercise where each cadre mapped their village, highlighting key public places such as panchayats, temples, schools, and essential infrastructure. They also identified local leadership and committee structures, giving a comprehensive overview of their communities. Key discussions on employment challenges brought forward 7 critical areas of interest for the youth cadres: 1. Access to government schemesParticipation in Gram Sabha 2. Strengthening governance 3. Exploring solar energy solutions 4. Enhancing computer literacy 5. Entrepreneurship and local shops 6. Promoting organic farming 7. Advancing biogas initiatives It’s inspiring to see the commitment of these young leaders to driving positive change in their communities. Together, they are paving the way for sustainable development and local governance. 🌍 Embracing Growth Through Experiences 🌱 Approaching the culmination of my studies at the African Leadership University, I reflect on the impactful journey I've had. Interning at Equity Bank Rwanda and collaborating with Giants of Africa have bestowed invaluable lessons in leadership, teamwork, and resilience. One standout experience has been the power of community engagement. Recently, engaging in Umuganda in Nyamirambo, where we united to clean streets and create trash storage, highlighted the significance of grassroots efforts in driving real change. 🚀 What experiences have influenced your path, and how do you think community involvement can foster positive change? Let's exchange stories and motivate each other! #Leadership #CommunityEngagement #PersonalGrowth #ALURwanda #SocialImpact #Umuganda
