Warm up with a 30 second Foot Fire exercise on Quick Board! Foot Fire is a foundational Quick Board exercise that test speed and explosiveness between the two legs. It's typically just a 10 second burst of activity, but if your athlete is looking to push their limits, there is a 30 second version. This simple modification makes FF a difficult endurance test! Measuring how performance fluctuates over the course of this half minute is a good way to spot deficits that have still not healed over the course of rehab or see if an athlete is moving in a way that makes future injuries likely. #endurance #speed #athlete #exercise #physicaltherapy #explosiveness

You should never be injured during a proper strength training workout. Strength training improves tendon stiffness which gives more efficient return as we land and push off again in running and jumping. Tendon stiffness strengthens the tendon and prevents injury. Note, tendon stiffness relates to energy return following an eccentric muscle action (think Achilles tendon as we run). This is a primary way we use less energy when we run.
