British Superyacht is breaking down borders in the superyacht world and making bold steps toward global collaboration that will change the game. British Superyacht has negotiated reciprocal 'associate membership' with Superyacht Australia and the U.S. Superyacht Association. Having these three great associations representing our industry globally and their members working together is significant to say the least. Richard Selby - CEO of British Superyacht said "Having had great relationships with both Superyacht Australia and the US Superyacht Association for many years, it seemed obvious that to share information and intelligence made sense for the benefit of each others member businesses. Our organisations can also form an obvious communication conduit to our respective government departments where we face barriers that can be neutralised through the education of key decision makers." 🔽 Check out the full article here 🔽 https://lnkd.in/ezw3A8rv #superyacht #superyachts #yachting #Yacht #Yachts #marineindustry #maritime #BritishSuperyacht 🧠 Thoughts & comments will remain my own and not be 🤖 generated. _________________________________________________________________________________ ✒ I normally post about the Superyacht Industry Business & Strategy, Yacht Regulatory & Operations around the globe. Talking about our next generation... Who said superyachts aren’t attractive? According to a few silver foxes in the ‘Building Human Capital’ session at The Superyacht Forum, they’re not, and that’s to the detriment of the entire industry. The sentiment was divided, the line seemingly drawn between either superyachting needing to rebrand to attract new talent or that people have become too soft and scared of a hard day’s graft. To address these issues, industry leaders suggest embracing new media platforms and technologies, such as producing Netflix series or using virtual reality for training. Initiatives like apprenticeship schemes and educational outreach programs are also vital in exposing young people to career opportunities in shipbuilding. However, there's a consensus that the industry must prioritise quality over quantity in recruitment, focusing on excellence rather than merely filling positions. Generations in the Wild - KEY INSIGHT: Growing demand for well-developed campgrounds! As co-founder at Outdoorsy, I've always believed in staying closely attuned to what families want from their vacation experience. So our strategy to invest in owning and operating campgrounds was a great way to get to know our guests, face to face. This is even more important as 🌲the $1 trillion outdoor industry is evolving faster than ever and why we launched ‘Generations in the Wild’, Outdoorsy’s inaugural independent research report, which delves into the values and preferences of four generations of RVing American families. 🏕️ One standout discovery is that developed campgrounds are in high demand in 2024. In fact, 8 of 10 families prefer them. The challenge? America’s best RV parks are often booked months in advance. What exactly defines a well-developed campground? We think Outdoorsy Bayfield does a pretty good job of hitting all the marks. Think: ✨ Top-notch facilities: Spotless showers, bathrooms, outdoor kitchens, and inviting community areas. 🌿 Seamless online booking to the outdoors: From pools and pickleball courts to fishing, nature trails and dog friendly areas, easy access to nature for the whole family makes all the difference. 👩💼 Friendly, available staff: A warm Outdoorsy welcome and helpful assistance go a long way in creating a memorable stay. 🌟 Additional perks: Well-stocked general store, great WiFi connection, onsite food options, and enticing swag add extra flair to the camping experience.. What's the bottom line? The outdoor industry is evolving, and developed campgrounds are poised to steal the spotlight. Please 🔍 dive into our Generations in the Wild Travel Report to stay ahead of the curve in the outdoor industry #Outdoorsy #OutdoorIndustry #CampingTrends #ThoughtLeader #GenerationsInTheWild 🏕️

Sound familiar? ⬇️ Like your vessel, most local seasonal restaurants are winterized, your boat is safe and shut-up for the winter, and, well, despite the holiday rush, you're bored and missing the water. Here are 4 ways to stay maritime-minded this winter when you can't be out on the water: 1️⃣ Take a boating safety course. Refresh your skills, learn new safety protocols, and brush up on your knowledge. Many courses are available online, so you can be ready for spring! 2️⃣ Dive into boat maintenance and upgrades. This is the perfect time to inspect your equipment, check systems, and tackle upgrades. Give your boat some TLC now to avoid surprises when it’s time to launch. 3️⃣ Explore local maritime history. Visit a local maritime museum or read up on nautical lore. Understanding the rich history of boating can deepen your appreciation for life on the water. 4️⃣ Attend a local boat show. For example, the New England Boat Show is January 8-12 at the Boston Convention & Exhibition Center. Stay connected to your maritime spirit, and you'll be ready to hit the water stronger than ever next spring! 🌅

Lessons from a 2 week camping trip (post 8 of 8): Find your joy. This trip is a LOT. The event is technically a city for the 2 weeks because of its size (this year, 9,200+ attendees). There's so much to do and the temptation is to jam-pack the schedule with All of the Things! It's entirely possible to start the day with a class at 8 a.m. and not return to your own camp until after the parties wind down in the wee hours of the morning. Every day. That way leads to madness and burnout. Instead, I do the activities that bring me the most fulfillment: * I drive a golf cart as part of the Watch safety patrol (I'm on a caaaht) * I teach a class some years * I cook bacon & eggs for our kitchen meal plan every day Are these things work? Yes, of course. It's work I enjoy doing on behalf of others, which makes all the difference. Photo by Laura Peskett, showing our camp's main socializing space, hung with banners representing various group members.

Fact #5 for National Safe Boating Week: Search Lights on Towboats Riverview Boat Store & Tug Service Capt Jeremy Putman captured a mesmerizing moment this morning in Thompson, IL! Behold Marquette Transportation Company, LLC 's M/V ANGELA K, her searchlight piercing through the dawn as she approaches Lock and Dam 13. Search Lights on Towboats are used for: 1. Navigating in Low Visibility: Essential for safe travel in fog, rain, or at night. 2. Spotting Hazards: Helps identify debris, shallow areas, or other vessels. 3. Maneuvering: Provides crucial light for docking and navigating tight spaces. 4. Emergencies: Vital for locating and addressing issues like a person overboard. For Recreational Boaters: 1. Stay Visible: Keep your boat well-lit. 2. Maintain Distance: Give towboats plenty of space. 3. Understand the Lights: Towboats use search lights for safety and may not see you if you’re not well-lit. 4. Monitor VHF Channels:** Stay updated on commercial traffic. By following these tips, we can all contribute to a safer boating environment. Happy boating and stay safe! #NationalSafeBoatingWeek #BoatingSafety #TowboatTips
