I'm a public relations consultant my specialty is female and mom run businesses, as well as businesses with an Italian focus when I send pitches to reporters, writers or editors, these are some of my go to tips: Do your research make it personal show them you've put in the effort don't send a pitch which has clearly been copy and pasted let them know why you think this pitch may work for them tell them you're familiar with their work and thought this could be of interest if it's timely, make that clear timely pieces give a sense of urgency you want whoever you are pitching to know WHY you choose them put in the effort, it will make all the difference

Think hiring a publicist means you can just sit back and relax? Think again. Effective book publicity isn't a one-person show—it's a collaborative effort requiring integrated communications between you, your publicist, and the media. As your book's launch approaches, your active involvement becomes indispensable. Being present and responsive not only supports your publicist’s efforts but amplifies them. When asked, we often recommended our authors plan to allocate three to five hours weekly to engage with media opportunities, provide insights for pitches/meet with their team, and participate in interviews or write guest articles. Communication is key. Inform your publicist of your schedule, especially any times you’re unavailable, to streamline the planning of media engagements. This integrated approach ensures that every opportunity is optimized and that your campaign moves smoothly. From my days as a publicist to my role now as president at Smith Publicity, Inc., I’ve seen firsthand the impact of a well-coordinated effort. Your engagement is crucial—think of it as co-piloting your publicity journey. Let’s bust this Smith Myth, collaborate effectively, and keep those lines of communication open. Together, we can elevate your book’s profile and capture the attention your work deserves. #marketing #author #publishing #marketingstrategy

Complaints on social media posted by disgruntled customers need to be addressed properly. Ignoring or deleting them will only solve half of the problem, it will not make the problem go away. Some review sites allow customers to share their personal experience on your brand, whether they liked or hate your product, they are free to air their views. Negative reviews generated on such sites can damage your reputation and reduce your sales. Negative news by the media is not wished away, it needs to be corrected, promptly. A statement by Phineas T. Barnum that “There’s no such thing as bad publicity,” can be true to some sections, but a statement on TV, online, or print media can only be ignored at your expense, so read on. #corporatesecrets #successrecipe #diy #socialnedia #news #negativereviews #publicrelationscampaigns #fakenews #brandloyalty #freelancewriter #editor #author #writer

Them: "What job are you looking for?" Me: "It goes by many names..." -Speechwriter -Executive Communications Specialist -Leadership Communications Specialist -Head of CEO Communications -Public Affairs Operator -Public Relations Officer -Professional Word Writer (made this one up but feels closest to the truth) And so on. There are more names for the position I want than there are Marvel movies, which makes applying for positions tricky. I can't just set a LinkedIn alert and have all the right jobs in my feed. And the titles themselves often mean nothing. They're just words strung together meant to sound fancier than they are. I guess esoteric positions come with esoteric titles. Maybe once I get my first job in the field things will be more clear. For now, back to sifting through sand looking for pebbles. #DailyStruggle #JobHunt #Communications

FREE ADVICE: I've been helping a professional find a PR agency (she works outside of property so I can't help directly) and here's my reproduced list of three top tips for gaining the best value. 1) Find a one man/woman/small team with a previous national newspaper journalist on their payroll. Former journalists have exceptional news sense and are quick to know what works and what doesn't. This saves huge amounts of time in the long run. 2) Avoid big agencies because they will give you a terrific sales spin but more often than not, a junior will be assigned to your account. Always ask who will be your day to day contact and enquire about their experience. Also ask to see examples of previous work which is relevant to your sector - and take note of how recent that coverage is - if they have nothing to show you from the last month, I would look elsewhere. 3) Look through the big online news sites to see what your competitors are doing in terms of PR - where they are placed and how often they are getting coverage - this should help guide you for what's achievable.

Success in public relations isn't just about who knows who - it's also about establishing + proving that you and your clients are reliable. Our team and our clients excel at meeting deadlines, providing concise responses, and being available in a moments notice. Reliability has gotten our clients featured in publications like Forbes, Apartment Therapy, Tech Crunch, TODAY, and Fast Company, to name a few. In fact, many of our big wins have come about because a previous source dropped out, or could not meet a deadline. Writers, editors and segment producers know they can reach out to us with little to no notice and we will be there to support them. Before diving into PR, really evaluate whether or not you have the time to participate in publicity initiatives. Don’t let opportunities go to waste! #pr #publicrelationstips #publicrelations #lenarosepr #communicationsstrategy #mediarelations

Do not overlook the value of news releases. Public Relations (PR) firms can promote your news by crafting the optimal newsworthy slant, writing your release, and putting it over the wire. Your news just might be worth pitching to producers, editors, and other media. For local papers, you can often write and submit articles yourself, depending on the topic. #NancyBurgess #StrategicMarketing #NewsRelease

Many people think that once a company starts promoting its products or services, editors will be knocking at your door. In some cases, that does happen, particularly if you have the latest “hot product,” but it’s not the norm. Public relations is an important part of the marketing mix, but it’s a tremendous amount of hard, detailed work. PUBLIC RELATIONS: A TOOL FOR SUCCESS By Dr Ajai Kumar Agarwal Price: Rs 399 Now available at Rs 299 To buy at a discounted price call or WhatsApp http://wa.me/917020145269 LIMITED TIME OFFER Public relations (PR) refers to managing how others see and feel about a person, brand, or company and PR personnel are responsible for crafting and maintaining that perception. Well, that is the standard definition we find in text books. But in practice a PR person has to deal with many responsibilities. Not in a linear way. There is no single solution that can be applied to all the issues. Waving, meandering and shifting synthesizer tones are his main ingredients. And this Dr Ajai Kumar Agarwal can say with firm conviction because he was a PR person all through his working life. To succeed one needs different ingredients in a proper proportion - how you communicate and present yourself, the patience, the humility and an urge to keep forgetting the bad experiences. #PR #publicreletion #newbooks #amreading #book #booklovers
