Just came back from the graduation event for the 2nd cohort of the FARI AI Accelerator. Inspiring to see the end result of the accelerator in the form a final pitch and also to have two graduates from the first cohort returning, one as jury member and the other to share insights on his story so far. Some highlights: 📊 It was remarkable to see not only the range of sectors being adressed: from Biotech to Privacy/Security and from Marketing to Local Governments, but also the different business models: B2B, B2B2C, B2C and B2G. 👏 It was very clear that all of the graduates focussed on a clear unmet need in combination with user-friendliness of the end-product. For one of them there was even a spontaneous applause when they introduced their product! 💬 Quote of the day: "Technology within university is completely different from technology outside of university" You shift from transforming theory into technology and improving upon it to incorporating customer feedback and a heavy focus on reducing costs while maintaining the same quality/performance. It reminded of the following quote from Dr John Collins, CIMIT, Boston: 'Treating "Innovation" as an extension of "Research" is a main reason for the Valley of Death.'
