⚓ Our CEO Capt. John Lloyd FNI is joining the next FISH Platform's in-person meeting in Cape Town on Nov 20-21. 🌊 Hosted by the Sea Safety Training Group (SSTG), this event brings together international experts dedicated to advancing safety and professionalism in the fishing industry worldwide. 🚢 It also gives us the opportunity to represent our members working in the industry and share important findings concerning safety coming from our Fishing Safety Advisory Group (FSAG). 🤝 With support from Lloyd's Register Foundation and The Seafarers’ Charity, we are working in finding ways to improve safety in the fishing industry. #NauticalInstitute #FishingSafety #Collaboration

We all know that otters are special animals - not only are they wonderful animals to watch but they are great indicators to a healthy environment. And yet they are being exploited for commercial gain and in some places hunted almost to extinction. Their habitat is being destroyed and fish stocks depleted. And they are being killed on our roads. The International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) is one of the world's leading otter charities. In the UK, IOSF is the only charity solely dedicated to the conservation, protection and care of #Otters based on over 20 years of scientific research in the UK and around the world. #Otters #Conservation #Wildlife https://lnkd.in/en8pcraS

Anyone able to help? "Q1 financial report 2024 Difficult times lay ahead 😣 We need to find 6000 people willing to spare just £1 a month in order to save the sanctuary and the home for the 500 rescues or 3000 people willing to spare £2 a month or 1500 people who could spare £1 a week or 750 people who could spare £8 a month or 375 people willing to help with £16 a month (about the average existing monthly donation) or 200 people who can spare £30 a month - sounds a lot but how much is a meal out or a take away these days? It costs over £30,000 to feed and care for the 500 rescues (£2 per day per rescue) - but we can't do it without your help - Most people reading this will already be doing this and for that we are immensely grateful and we don't want to ask you to do more, you are already helping! We need to reach more caring people like you With the current rate of donations vs costs we can continue - we hope - for most of this year, but unless things change that will be it" Donate: https://lnkd.in/ejzhKy5B Link to Video: https://lnkd.in/eTQhBw23
