It's time to deluctter your kids' toys before the influx of Christmas toys! ⏰ Here are our three favorite ways to declutter toys. 1) Grab a black trash bag. Fill it with things they'll never miss. Recycle, donate, or toss. (Don't get caught! 🤫) 2) Create a letter from Santa asking kids to fill a box with toys and donate it to a local organization. (Perfect teaching opportunity for generosity and abundance!) 3) Check out our free download with games you can play with your kids to teach them how to declutter. You can grab the download from the resources link in our bio. We're dying to know! What's your favorite toy decluttering method? Comment below.

Decluttering toys with kids. A great motivator for kids to declutter their toys before a birthday or holiday is the knowledge that more is probably coming in and they need to make room for it. You may want to pick a charity/donation spot together to help them focus on passing the blessing of a toy on to another child. A good rule of thumb in deciding if a toy is donate-able, is to ask yourself, “Would I give this to my neighbor?” If the answer is “no”, then it may be best to trash or recycle it. For example, puzzles or lego sets with missing pieces would not be good candidates for donation. This goes for clothing, too. I heard someone say that kids grow each quarter, so you have to go through their clothing that often to cull out the outgrown items. This makes laundry more doable on several levels. There is not as much to do, and it’s easier to put away if you’re not stuffing too much in drawers and closets. An overabundance of clothes, toys and books leads to an under appreciation of those items. Why take care of a book if you have 200 more on the shelf? By continual culling, you teach your child two lessons: 1. the valuable skill of weeding out items, (because who wants to see your kids on a future episode of “Hoarders”) and 2: you help them appreciate what they do have. To see your kids appreciate the blessings they have been given is a gift unto itself. #toys #playroom #declutter #kids #holiday Photo by Stephen Andrews on Unsplash

Do you remember those excursions you took in primary school? How about when you had someone come in an speak to you about mental health? Remember the fun you had and how much you learned. Now imagine not being able to have this chance because the school can’t afford to send you. It's really important to have these experiences throughout school but lots of schools aren’t as lucky to be able to afford to run these programs on their own. With your help we can give these students the chance to have these experiences. Every dollar helps students get experiences they wouldn’t get just because of where they live. Right now all donations are doubled. For $30 you can ensure a student can attend an excursion, for $45 you can ensure 6 children get to attend an in-school session on wellbeing, for $400 you can pay fund half the cost of transport for a whole class. Donate now to double your impact. Donate at https://lnkd.in/g2nyQT-d

For the month of July, our Who I Am Foundation volunteers in #Albuquerque are hosting our 11th Annual Back-to-School Supply Drive to help children in need begin the school year with all of the tools they need for academic success. With so many uncertainties about how children will return to school and what the classroom will look like, they need your help more than ever. Families with children in K-12 spent a projected $519 per child on back-to-school needs last year. For families in low-income neighborhoods, the costs are simply not realistic. Donating new school supplies to children in disadvantaged communities will make an impact on their ability to begin the school year school-ready. Items we are collecting: -Pencils -Pens -Composition Books -Combination Locks -Scientific Calculators -5-Subject Notebooks -Tissues -Hand Sanitizer -Wet Wipes -Trapper Keepers -Colored Pencils -Markers -Protractors -Paint Sets -Glue Bottles -Notebook Paper -Highlighters -Scissors -Sharpeners -Pocket Folders To donate, simply comment below and we'll have a volunteer coordinate a donation pick up!! #TeamWhoIAm_Albuquerque
