🌱 Insights from Our Research on the Green Transition 🌱 As we continue to explore the landscape of sustainability leadership, our recent research in partnership with Oxford Brookes Business School revealed some striking findings regarding the number of employees responsible for the green transition within organizations. 🔍 Key Findings: A significant 72% of organisations have 0-5 employees with formal responsibility for the green transition. Only 16% have between 6-15 employees designated for this vital role. A mere 4% report having 16-49 employees dedicated to the green transition. And just 8% have 50 or more employees focused on sustainability initiatives. These statistics highlight a critical challenge in the journey towards sustainability: the need for dedicated leadership and a broader commitment to the green transition across all levels of an organisation. We believe that empowering more individuals to take on formal responsibility for sustainability efforts is essential for driving meaningful change. It’s time to rethink our structures and embrace collaboration to build teams capable of tackling the pressing environmental challenges we face today. 📈 How many employees in your organisation are engaged in the green transition? Share your thoughts below! 🔗 Link to full report in the comments. #Sustainability #GreenTransition #Leadership #ClimateChange #ClimateChangeCoaches #OxfordBrookes #ResearchInsights

Our New Sustainability Capabilities Report Is Now Published - Sustainability Capabilities for Business Leaders was prepared in partnership with Maynooth University, and Business in the Community Ireland and commissioned by Skillnet Climate Ready Academy and 20FIFTY PARTNERS. Authored by Dr. Jean Cushen from Maynooth University, this report is the first examination of both the beliefs and capabilities of top Irish business leaders when it comes to sustainability. A key focus of Skillnet Ireland. A key finding is a lack of clarity regarding the skills needed to drive sustainable change and effectively implement sustainable practices in organisations. Highlighting the need for a constructive and collaborative response from Government and industry bodies to ensure that all necessary sustainability transition upskilling and support mechanisms are available and effectively communicated to businesses. Key drivers of change for businesses include preparing for the forthcoming Corporate Sustainability Reporting Directive (CSRD), aligning with national emissions reduction targets, meeting regulatory obligations, and the desire to position their organisation as an attractive employer.
