FOOLFARM closes a $2.55 million capital raise to back italian founders #FoolFarm, the innovative Italian venture builder specializing in artificial intelligence, has successfully closed a new investment round of 2.55 million euros. This marks the first closing of a larger capital increase launched in June 2024, aiming for a total of 9.2 million euros. The new funding, led by prominent investors including Crédit Agricole Italia through its Le Village network and Add Value, alongside various family offices and U.S. investors, values FoolFarm at a pre-money valuation of 30 million euros. Founded and led by CEO Andrea Cinelli, FoolFarm has been at the forefront of AI-driven startup creation since its inception. The firm adopts a unique business model, functioning as a "startup factory" that rapidly develops new ventures from its R&D labs in Milan and Lecce, or through tech transfers from university projects via its Foolers Village program. This initiative spans universities like Lecce, Sassari, and La Sapienza in Rome, highlighting FoolFarm's commitment to fostering innovation at the academic level. The fresh capital will support FoolFarm's ambitious 2024/2028 industrial plan, which includes investing in 20 new AI-based startups. The goal is to reach break-even by 2026 and eventually go public. The firm’s proprietary startup-creation process, coupled with its fast prototyping platform, FoolCore, allows for the swift development of new prototypes and startups, often within weeks. Each startup is built on international industrial patents, ensuring robust intellectual property foundations. Crédit Agricole Italia's involvement is particularly significant, as it brings strategic synergies through its extensive Village by CA ecosystem, which supports over 150 startups across 44 global Villages, including four in Italy. This collaboration is set to drive FoolFarm’s growth, both within Europe and into the U.S. market, with plans to establish a base in Miami by 2025. Since its launch, FoolFarm has created over 15 million euros in assets, successfully bringing five startups to market: VOICEME, IIO, Fragmentalis, AidaMask, and Snaproof™.
