A new bipartisan bill in the US seeks to establish and support a framework for research and testing of supercritical geothermal technologies. 🙌 Supercritical geothermal ♨, sometimes referred to as superhot rock energy, is a category of enhanced geothermal systems that requires deep drilling technologies to access dry rocks at temperatures around 400°C or greater, that can supply about five to ten times more energy per well 👏 compared to conventional hydrothermal systems. 👀 Read more here ➡️: https://lnkd.in/dvBnWN4z #US #Geothermal #GeothermalDevelopment #Technology #SuperHotGeothermal #Legislation
200mw per well. Amazing
Coming in hot, with less footprint, less water and xtimes the power intensity! #geothermaldecade

6moPlease, correct me if I am wrong, from experience, MWD are reliable at up to 150°c these days, some service companies are pretending to have reliable equipment for up to 175°c, please propose them to take all the risk ($$$$$$) in case of failure. The latest is about a company having reached 200°c (on going field trial) and aiming at 300°c in the next couple of years. I am curious about directional drilling above 400°c as shown on the above info-graphic...
