TEC Thursdays! Today's marketing efforts were focussed at the Titanic Exhibition Centre (TEC) Belfast. Nathan Tang & Michael Kerr met with Jona Crabtree from RSK Group company CAN at the Northern Ireland Manufacturing & Supply Chain Conference & Expo to learn about the new developments in sustainable manufacturing, automation and digital transformation. Great variety of speakers discussing AI, the Future of Work, supply chain and logistics, renewable energy and lean processes - so plenty to think about. had some interesting discussions about control systems and robotics too. It got us thinking about how this applies to the environmental and construction sectors? Answer - innovation, advances in technology, data collection & processing and efficiencies gained through connectivity all bring advantages to any project so the key is to ensure these tools are set up at early project stages to realise the benefits throughout the project life cycle. Yesterday, we showcased the incredible opportunities offered by PowerizeD. We had the pleasure of receiving a visit from Arganda municipality, manufacturing companies and general public interested in the GAMHE (CAR) laboratory and the ongoing pojects like PowerizeD. PowerizeD focuses on improving the way energy is generated and transmitted through the use of digitized and intelligent power electronics. The approach integrates control, driver, and switching functions to enhance performance by using new circuit models, advanced control strategies, and #AI, aiming for robust and reliable operation. It emphasizes the intelligence of power electronics, thereby contributing to the decarbonization of European society and climate protection. CAR (CSIC-UPM) contribution to this project consists of the design and development of reliability models based on machine learning strategies for extending the useful life of Fagor Automation I CNC & Feedback Systems I Automation Solutions power regulators. Collaboration with industrial stakeholders and municipalities is not just important, it's essential for transferring research into tangible and impactful solutions. 😎 Future-proof times two: There is not only one but two new ways to meet the challenges in process industry. They are called Modular Type Package (MTP) und NAMUR Open Architecture (NOA).
