Solution Launched to Nursery Staff Shortage in #Hertfordshire! Exciting news for individuals looking to enter the early years sector, you can even retrain from a less secure sector! These Skills Bootcamps provide a fantastic opportunity for those aged 19+ who are not currently employed in early years, offering fully funded training to help them step into a rewarding new career. Programme Highlights: Flexible Training: Three weeks in-person or up to 12 weeks online. Guaranteed Interviews: Graduates are guaranteed an interview for a job with a local nursery. Accelerated Apprenticeships: Successful candidates can start a level 3 accelerated apprenticeship upon securing employment. Karen Derbyshire Operations Director at Realise, comments: “With the number of children eligible for free childcare set to grow substantially in the next 18 months, it’s more important than ever to attract new people to the sector and ensure they receive the appropriate training. Within a few days, sweeping changes to childcare provision will begin. Worrying insights have come from authorities in sector including Nursery World National Day Nurseries Association (NDNA) Professional Association for Childcare and Early Years (PACEY) Coram highlighting that amongst other issues, a limited flow of qualified professionals could cause strain on these plans. But if you peer behind the curtain, there’s good news for the sector. Department for Education apprenticeship data shows that interest in entering the sector is steadily increasing. In fact, last week’s apprenticeship-start data update shows that entry-level L3 Early Years apprenticeships are now the most subscribed for this academic year. Clearly, the education sector has a huge role to play supporting these ambitious plans. Many industries in Maryland – including childcare - face significant challenges identifying qualified workers to fill open positions. It was a pleasure to moderate this session! We appreciated the wide range of employers and organizations that registered or attended, illustrating the collaboration needed to strengthen Maryland's apprenticeship ecosystem as a viable option to build employee talent pipelines.
