From the abstract 👇 Targeted muscle reinnervation (TMR) surgery is now increasingly performed when individuals with amputation develop problems with chronic, nerve-related limb pain. This study evaluates the effectiveness of TMR for individuals with upper-limb amputations in terms of quality-adjusted life years, subjective neuroma pain, and phantom limb pain. ARTHROSCOPY MAKES SENSE Ankle arthrosis is a difficult problem to treat. If there is no effect in conservative treatment, surgery is recommended. We have 2 options, endoprosthesis or arthrodesis. Here, arthrodesis was chosen. Arthroscopic arthrodesis gives good results and access, of course, reduces pain and the risk of complications. In this prospective cohort study, age and emotional distress in response to bodily sensations were consistently associated with pain intensity trajectories and/or daily mg morphine equivalent trajectories in the days after surgery; trajectories of acute pain intensity, but not opioid consumption, were associated with pain status at 1 year. https://buff.ly/3yTVWeN
