Clemson University's Global Tire Industry Conference kicked off this Tuesday! We've had great conversations about environmental impacts, manufacturing challenges, and future vehicle and tire trends for South Carolina tire manufacturing. Tomorrow is the last day of the conference, but Bill Black and Jeffrey Heath would like to continue these discussions and talk about how our sustainable products are game changers for the tire and recyclate industries. A new plan to slash plastic use in the U.S. The Biden administration announced today that the federal government, the biggest buyer of consumer goods in the world, would phase out purchases of single-use plastics. It called plastic pollution one of the world’s most pressing environmental problems. The cornerstone of the federal government’s plan is to phase out purchases of single-use plastics for food, events and packaging by 2027. Today marks National Supply Chain Day in the United States, and we're taking this opportunity to celebrate and highlight our Green Supply Chain (GSC). 🌍 At Winvic, we collaborate closely with our GSC to develop innovative and sustainable product solutions. We're constantly researching new construction methods and technologies, focusing on carbon and energy-efficient materials. Our primary objective is to minimise the embodied carbon emissions across the entire lifecycle of our projects. Our 'One Team' approach enables us to work collaboratively to measure, reduce, and, when necessary, offset the embodied carbon emissions associated with each Net Zero project we undertake. 🤝 Bi-annual GSC workshops focus on how to make Net Zero a reality by sharing ideas for carbon reduction measures. These have amplified collaboration, enhancing the development of innovative and sustainable product solutions through researching new methods of construction and technologies with carbon and energy-efficient materials.
