🏳️🌈 Pride Month Insights: According to the Ipsos LGBT+ Pride 2023 survey, an average of 9% of adults across 30 countries identify as LGBT+, with notable generational gaps. The survey reveals: ⭐ Growing LGBT+ visibility since 2021, with significant geographic variations persisting. ⭐ Majority backing in most countries surveyed for marriage and adoption rights for same sex couples. ⭐ Broad support for shielding transgender individuals from discrimination in employment and housing, though opinions differ on other pro-transgender measures. 🌈 Reflecting on the End of LGBT+ History Month: A Call to Action 🌈 As we bid farewell to LGBT+ History Month, it's crucial to acknowledge the progress we've made in promoting inclusivity and understanding. However, the end of this designated month should not mark the conclusion of our efforts. There is still much work to be done, and our commitment to fostering a diverse and accepting society must extend beyond a mere 28 or 30 days. As we move forward, let's channel our collective energy into a few actionable steps we can take: ✨ If you manage people, make sure you understand the policies that would impact LGBT+ people. ✨Show your support for equality visibly and talk about how inclusion relates to your every day work. ✨ Commit to being an active bystander and challenging anti-LGBT+ language and behaviour. ✨ Find a way to lend your skills to the LGBT+ inclusion work happening in your organisation. Let's remember that our commitment to equality is not confined to a single month. It's an ongoing journey that requires collective action. Our new survey across 26 countries finds gender, generational and geographical divides on everything from same-sex marriage to brands supporting the community. In this edition, Generation Z leads in LGBT+ self-identification (17%), with support for transgender rights rising to 78% among Gen Z women). However, the global perspective on LGBT+ rights differs vastly, and support for companies promoting LGBT+ equality has dipped to 44%, five points down on 2001 levels. #IpsosInsight - 🏳️🌈 The latest Ipsos LGBT+ #Pride Report shows Thailand is emerging as a global leader in LGBT+ rights and protections with exceptionally strong support for LGBT+ inclusion. A staggering 84% of Thais believe LGBT+ people should be protected from discrimination in employment, housing, and access to businesses, highest percentage of support among 23 countries surveyed. This strong support extends to transgender rights as well. An impressive 89% of Thais back anti-discrimination measures for transgender individuals. This unwavering support translates into a desire for broader legal protections, with 73% favouring laws that prohibit discrimination against the LGBT+ community across various sectors.
