Conference paper presentation #NBM2024: How Much Sustainability is Not Embodied in Business Models? Excited about the opportunity to present my draft paper at the New Business Models Conference in Donostia-San Sebastian last week. I have addressed #Impact, #Value, #Greed and #Greenwashing through the research question “How to ensure that the value communication of an organization is aligned with its value creation?”. I am thankful for the comments I have received from the session chairs Florian Lüdeke-Freund and Romana Rauter, together with the other presenters Ane Arregi, Juan Ramón Candia, Dr. Kristina Fajga, and the participants online and in-person. I will work on integrating all the guidance received and be ready for the next step: (1) preparing a second version, (2) presenting it, (3) getting the last feedback, (4) fine-tuning a last time the paper, (5) joining the publishing game. - - - - - École Polytechnique, i3-CRG (Centre de recherche en gestion / Management Research Centre) @École Polytechnique, Technology for Change, Square Management. - - - - -

🌎 This week we presented at the 16th International Social Innovation Research Conference held at the Berner Fachhochschule BFH, the case study of an Italian cooperative and their aims to achieve efficient circularity by Asia Guerreschi and the work carried out by Climate Circular Coop at Università degli Studi di Ferrara 🌎 This is a ongoing qualitative research to investigate how this particular case study was able to implement certain circular strategies and which were the challenges. 🌳 Also which cooperative elements aided into the process, wondering if these variables could be replicated. 📌 Do you know of circular coops? Tell us in the comments!

🚀 Transforming Education: Embracing Social Learning Theory🚀 In our rapidly changing world, traditional education models are being challenged. Beverly Wenger-Trayner and Etienne Wenger-Trayner social learning theory offers a transformative approach that recognizes the importance of meaningfulness, agency, and identity in learning. 🔍 Meaningfulness:Learning isn't just about absorbing facts. It's about negotiating meaning and being deeply affected by our experiences. 💡 Agency:True education empowers students to make a difference. It goes beyond test scores, nurturing their ability to impact the world meaningfully. 👤 Identity:Education shapes who we are. It's not just about acquiring knowledge but about becoming a person in the social world. 🌍 21st Century Challenges: 1. Identity Work: Helping students navigate complex identities and affiliations. 2. Productive Non-Competence: Guiding students to make informed decisions without being experts. 3. Navigating Uncertainty: Training students to handle real-world challenges with no predefined solutions. Let's reimagine education by focusing on creating social learning spaces where students are driven by their desire to make a difference, engage with uncertainty, and pay attention to emergent knowledge. 🔗 For more insights, check out their website https://lnkd.in/djZZZ-7P #Education #LearningTheory #SocialLearning #TransformingEducation

JRC TENDER - Design and behavioural research study to create evidence-based, EU harmonised consumer waste sorting labels Yesterday, the Kick-off Meeting for a new project by the Joint Research Centre (JRC) of the European Commission was held. Department of Design is honoured to contribute to a groundbreaking initiative that supports the participatory design of EU harmonised on-package and on-receptacle waste sorting labels, aiming to facilitate waste sorting by consumers. For the next year and a half, Department of Design will have the pleasure of collaborating with the JRC team led by Hendrik Bruns. This project intertwines a participatory design and behavioural science approach to create evidence-based, EU-harmonised consumer waste sorting labels. To know more about the topic, here is the article “Where should I throw this?” (https://lnkd.in/dHaTe99g) to better understand how the EU Policy Lab wants to support the EU waste policy to further reduce waste and in particular packaging waste. Led by Open Evidence, and together with Krukow, The The London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE), Cameron Brick, Cint and Bilendi & respondi, the research team will conduct an in-depth analysis of the existing labelling system, perform extensive consumer testing, co-creation with citizens for the generation of ideas, in order to design a waste-sorting labelling scheme based on the gathered insights. #CircularEconomy #EUPolicyLab #Sustainability #WasteLabelling #design #research #polimi #designpolimi #innovation #wastesorting #cocreation #behaviouralstudies

I have always been intrigued by the intricate connections that shape our world—how small changes in one part of a system can create ripples across entire value chains. Finally, I found the time to dive more into the theory of System Dynamics, a methodology that unravels the complexity of systems and helps identify leverage points for meaningful change towards a Circular Economy. Thanks Lucerne University of Applied Sciences and Arts, and in particular Michele Kellerhals, as well as MIT Professional Education to enable this journey! #CircularEconomy #SystemDynamics #Sustainability #Education #Innovation
