Do you have an example of good youth-engagement in adaptation solutions? We need to hear from YOU! The WG has been invited by the Global Center on Adaptation to provide best practices for their Youth Adaptation Forums held throughout the year. How can YOU participate? You can submit best practices related to youth engagement, that you have either been directly involved in or have observed in your country. The best practice should be related to one of the following themes: 1. Water 2. Climate-resilient Agriculture 3. Nature-based Solutions 4. Youth Entrepreneurship, Adaptation Jobs and Finance 5. Locally Led Adaptation What happens if my submission is accepted? The selected projects will showcased during the Global Center for Adaptation's Youth Climate Forum taking place throughout 2024. Selected projects may be also be included in publications by the GCA's and shared during official UNFCCC events. You can register to attend any of the Adaptation Forum events. Excited to announce that I've successfully completed the "Indicators for an Inclusive Green Economy- Introductory Course" by United Nations Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR) UN CC:Learn and Partnership for Action on Green Economy (PAGE). Throughout this course, I've gained valuable insights - a) into the role and value of Green Economy Indicators (GEI) frameworks and their relation to improved policy making, b) outlining of GEI frameworks and their linkages to SDGs, c) analysing the process of prioritising and selecting indicators and how this can be incorporated into a National Green Economy Monitoring Framework. Ready to apply these learnings to drive sustainability efforts in my work and contribute to building a greener, more equitable future for all. Let's continue to innovate and collaborate for a better tomorrow! #GreenEconomy #Sustainability #Inclusivity #LearningAndDevelopment #SDGs #GreenEconomyIndicators #SMART #OECD #PAGE #GreenGrowthKnowledgePlatform #CircleofSustainability #WorldBank #InclusiveGreenEconomy

#Happy_to_share_this_certificate_received_from_the_UN_ESCAP_after_a_training_in_General_and_Sector_Based_Indicators_for_Evaluating_the_Contribution_of_Foreign_Direct_Investment_to_Sustainable_Development In this course we learn that the Sustainable Development is declined into four dimensions namely economic, social, environnemental and governance. The COVID-19 reversed the SDGs trend stretching by the way public financing. So to attain the SDGs countries need more resources especially from Foreign Direct Investment and make sure every penny be used efficiently. This course teaches how FDI projects can be scored through many indicators related to the four Sustainable Development dimensions and to compare those projects between themselves and set efficient projects to be finance and reach the SDG goals. We learned also through this course how the SDG projects can be be aligned to each National Development Strategy to promote Development priorities in countries

More than 60% of #Africa’s working population is engaged in agriculture, and the soil across most of the continent is rich and fertile (African Development Bank Group). #Agriculture plays a pivotal role in the continent’s economic and social landscape and also in its endeavours towards a sustainable and green future. The education sector is therefore placing a greater emphasis on the green transition as well. This includes growth strategies for renewable energies, climate-friendly agriculture, biodiversity protection and climate-resilient infrastructure. Promoting green economy skills was among the action recommendations of the fifth edition of #TheAfricaRoundtable on education and training for Africa’s youth at the end of last year. You can find them here: https://lnkd.in/dRw45gBS The upcoming edition of our conference will take place in Berlin at #GSS2024. It will focus on how the African continent can leverage its potential to become a global agricultural powerhouse and offers new perspectives on previously untapped opportunities in the agricultural sector, including new technologies. #agritech #education

The UN Sustainable Development Report (SDR 2024) is out. It focuses on the UN Summit of the Future, with an opening chapter endorsed by 100+ global scientists and practitioners. This year’s SDR highlights five key findings: 1. On average, only 16 percent of the SDG targets are on track to be met globally by 2030, with the remaining 84 percent showing limited progress or a reversal of progress. 2. The pace of SDG progress varies significantly across country groups. Nordic countries continue to lead on SDG achievement, with the BRICS countries making significant progress while poor and vulnerable nations lag far behind. 3. Sustainable development remains a long-term investment challenge. Reforming the global financial architecture is more urgent than ever. 4. Global challenges require global cooperation. Barbados ranks the highest in its commitment to UN-based multilateralism; the United States ranks last. 5. The SDG targets related to food and land systems are particularly off-track. The SDR evaluates three possible pathways towards achieving sustainable food and land systems. #sustainability #unitednations
