Entering the world of motorsports has been an exhilarating journey filled with unexpected surprises. One thing that has truly shocked me is the incredible speed at which everything moves, especially in F1. Even in the lower formulas, there is a constant effort to keep up with the advancements in F1. The evolution of the cars is mind-boggling, with changes happening within a matter of months. I remember walking into the wind tunnel after a four-day break and finding the car completely transformed. It's a constant learning process, where you have to teach yourself how everything works again. #Motorsports #FOne #Evolution #Speed #LearningProcess

#whenithastoberight not to talk about #RedBull 😉 Let us talk about the Raceyard Formula Student Team Kiel from #FHKiel (unfortunately only in German - but with beautiful pictures) With the #tactile_measurement of the carbon monocoque chassis, the student team determines the deviation of the chassis points on the real vehicle compared to the CAD model. The combination of #tactile_measurement and #scanning of the monocoque allows #Raceyard to check whether the deviations in the chassis points result from the monocoque production or the milling process. This allows the students to find out whether problems with driving dynamics are production-related. The measurement data flows directly into the development of the racing car. #wherequalitycomestogether it must be #HxGN #sCMM #AbsoluteArm #AbsoluteScanning #AS1 #PCDMIS 🏆 Thanks to Raceyard Formula Student Team Kiel for sharing, great job

"Making It In Zero-G: The Story Behind Aston Martin Red Bull Racing's Zero Gravity Pit Stop In a world where every second counts, Aston Martin Red Bull Racing pushed the boundaries of innovation with their Zero Gravity Pit Stop. This groundbreaking achievement showcases the team's relentless pursuit of excellence and willingness to challenge conventional thinking. The concept was simple: perform a pit stop in zero gravity. The execution, however, was far from it. It required meticulous planning, precision engineering, and a team of experts from various fields. The journey began with a partnership between Aston Martin Red Bull Racing and the European Space Agency (ESA). Together, they designed a customized aircraft, capable of creating a weightless environment for the pit crew. Next, the team developed specialized tools and equipment, tailored to function in microgravity. Every detail mattered, from the wrenches to the wheel nuts. The crew then underwent rigorous training, adapting their skills to the unique conditions of zero-G. It was a true test of adaptability and teamwork. Finally, the moment of truth arrived. The aircraft took off, and the pit crew performed the world's first zero-gravity pit stop. It was a historic achievement, demonstrating the team's innovative spirit and commitment to excellence. This remarkable story serves as a reminder that, with collaboration, creativity, and determination, we can achieve the impossible. It's a testament to the power of human ingenuity and the importance of pushing beyond the boundaries of what's thought possible. #AstonMartinRedBullRacing #ZeroGravityPitStop #Innovation #Teamwork #Excellence" Formula 1

#ZACHMultimediaF1Insights #ZACHMultimediaHotRods "How Formula 1 teams plan strategy: secret codes and hundreds of voices "From millions of simulations to weather forecasting and listening to other teams’ radios … the pursuit of perfection can turn strategists into heroes – or villains By Molly H., Motor Racing Reporter, The Times, 22 August 2024 Collage By #ZACHMultimediaDesign "A Formula 1 team can have the fastest driver, the quickest pit stops and the richest history, but without the correct strategy that is all merely a footnote. "But that strategy, and the difference between winning and losing, is not only the decision of a small brains trust at the top of the organisation, but rather the result of the input of hundreds of minds — largely unknown and split between the pitwall and the factory — providing the data and analysis that the more familiar faces can utilise. "From complex simulations to basic weather forecasting, over the course of a season there will be many “decision points” that can transform strategists from heroes to villains. There is another key point too, of course. “If you want to make a strategy team look brilliant, give them a fast car,” Andrew Shovlin, the Mercedes-Benz AG trackside engineering director, says, laughing. "Shov, as he is known in the paddock, would know. Mercedes had to wait until the ninth race of the season to claim their first podium place, before an upturn in form. In the past six races Mercedes have had six podium finishes, including three race victories. [Image - F1 teams use their own weather radars, though tracks such as Spa can be unpredictable because of their microclimates - Alamy] "“Racing at the front with a fast car is much easier than racing in mid-pack where you’ve got to cover off so many different threats. You often have races where you might have ten cars that are all within two or three tenths [of a second] on performance. Therefore they’re all a threat,” Shovlin explained from Mercedes’s Brackley factory before the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa. "Strategy is a highly technical, mathematical and complex operation. Millions of simulations build a picture that determines the probability of what could happen in a race. One such simulator tool, which all teams will use in varying forms, plots each potential race plan on a graph using colour-coded lines for each team, featuring their pace across the course of the race and when they could pit. "This can cause confusion, or at least temporary irritation, when a driver moves teams and their line changes colour (as Lewis Hamilton’s will when he goes to Scuderia Ferrari next season). Teams will use a combination of data from previous visits to the circuit, analysis of where their current car performs well or struggles and live feedback from sessions to create a moving picture of strategy. They will also have a percentage chance of a safety..."... ... https://lnkd.in/g3zh7zYW
