For coffee shops, offices, and hospitality venues, this is the busiest time of the year – and at Tapside, we’re here to help you prepare. A Fantastic Start to Tea Mountain’s Christmas Markets! This weekend marked the beginning of Tea Mountain’s festive market season, and what a start it’s been! Trading at Hambrooks Garden Centre and the Love Southsea Christmas Market exceeded all expectations. Our Christmas blends, Mince Pie tea and Chocolate Orange tea, were such a hit that we sold out (don’t worry, a fresh batch is already on the way for next weekend!). The highlight? Sales at the Love Southsea market were up an incredible 18% compared to last year. Reflecting on why this might be, I’ve pinpointed a few key changes: - Better Stand Position: Location matters, and this year we secured a prime spot. - Improved Layout & Signposting: Clearer, more engaging displays helped attract attention and guide customers to our products. - A Year of Refinement: A full year of regular markets has allowed me to hone both the stall presentation and my approach to customer engagement. It’s especially encouraging to hear direct feedback. A couple of customers mentioned how much they liked the look of the stand and appreciated the welcoming atmosphere. (It seems not all stallholders can resist the lure of their phones or books!) A big thank you to everyone who stopped by this weekend – it’s always a pleasure to share my passion for tea and hear your stories. I’m optimistic for the weekends ahead and looking forward to meeting more tea enthusiasts as we continue this festive journey. Where will you find Tea Mountain next? Keep an eye out for our upcoming Christmas markets! #TeaMountain #ShopLocal #PortsmouthTea #ChristmasMarkets #FestiveSeason #SmallBusiness #CustomerFocus #ChristmasTeas

☑ Mini tambourines ☑ Mouse traps ☑ Dutch oven ☑ A specific craft beer ☑ This t-shirt What do these all have in common? This year, I made the effort to begin my Christmas shopping list planning EARLY...like in January. I was frustrated with trying to find the perfect gifts and getting into Nov-Dec without any good ideas. So, I made the conscious effort to pay more attention to conversations with these individuals - their wants, interests, hobbies, passions - and started a list on my phone to capture ideas throughout the year. The items listed above and this t-shirt are some of the ideas on my list for this Christmas. Why did I share this? Because this is how WE SHOULD ALL BE LISTENING TO OUR CUSTOMERS...whether you already have their business and are engaged in ongoing discussions - or you are simply in prospecting mode and developing relationships for long-term. When we REALLY LISTEN and pay attention through conversations, research, meeting feedback, or their social posts...it can provide VALUABLE INSIGHT into their needs and wants. This is insight that can DIFFERENTIATE you from your competition, as well as help in providing a great CUSTOMER EXPERIENCE for them. #fridayfeels #listen #customerexperience #sales #MRL #customerinsights #differentiationstrategies #salescoaching

We don’t provide beverages and that’s a good thing for you - here’s why: We often get asked if we provide drinks and the answer is no. If a local venue or service is offering to provide drinks for you they are undoubtedly going to include an upcharge (on top of the rental cost). This upcharge will be included whether they are alcohol related drinks or non alcoholic drinks. Our focus is to provide and create an entire venue and gathering space, and don’t think adding other charges is beneficial just for the ‘convenience.’ The attached example shows what these upcharges can look like. Nearly double of what someone could purchase it for at the store. Be sure to read the fine print before locking in a venue - costs can skyrocket very quickly.

I am going to say it louder for the people at the back. Because what is obvious for me might be a game-changer for you: 📣We take pre-orders!!📣 Below is a beautiful screenshot of our weekly schedule. We take bookings as far as 18 months in the future, and lock them in so that no amount of orders off the back of LinkedIn posts can jeopardise you getting your biscuits on time! This does NOT mean that we bake your biscuits and leave them on the shelves for months. Our biscuits do have a shelf-life of 10 weeks, but we are not set up to store boxes and boxes of biscuits. Plus we are foodies, and we know that a fresh biscuit tastes better than a month-old biscuit. When you pre-order, you secure your booking. We schedule it. Depending on the circumstances, you pay later, a deposit, or in full. When the dispatch day approaches, we bake your biscuits. We offer a timely dispatch guarantee, so unless Royal Mail is not playing ball you get your biscuits exactly when you want them. (We also tend to allow at least one extra day contingency because that is the bit we can control). So, it is NOT to early to order Christmas biscuits, wedding favours for 2025, or lock in a booking for a big even you are running next year! Get in touch with me and my team by emailing enquiries@thebiskery.com to discuss your future biscuit needs today. #preorder #eventplanning #christmas2024

If this is you then I have a challenge for you this week and we are going to build on these as the weeks go on! It’s easier said than done I know BUT take 10 minutes at the weekend to scribble down, BEFORE you do the food shopping, what you are going to cook each night that week. Curate you shopping list based upon the plan. That’s all. Sounds simple I know. Start small and build upon it. That’s how we do things here. Even if you don’t act on the list, that’s ALL I want you to do this week. Let me know how you get on – or do you already do this one? Do you find it an effective way to plan the week for your family? ✌🏼🌻🖤

🎉 Well, look who’s finally joined the LinkedIn party! 🎉 Yes, we know we’re a bit late to the game (fashionably late, of course), but we’re here now—and ready to Roll(ie) 😜 🧻 For those who don’t know us, we’re Rollie—a family-run business based in Co. Down. For over 20 years, we’ve been keeping tills ticking, card receipts rolling, and coffee cups filled for businesses across the UK and Ireland. What do we do? ✔ High-quality till rolls and credit card rolls at competitive prices ✔Ribbons and restaurant order pads (yes, we’re fancy like that). ✔And for the coffee shops and cafés out there, we’ve got compostable cups and packaging that are as kind to the planet as they are to your brand. We’re all about going the extra mile for our customers—whether it’s speedy deliveries, friendly advice, or just a good chat (we’re great listeners!). So, if your business has a till, a card machine, a requirement for order pads or coffee cups - give us a shout! 👉 Follow us to see what we’re up to, and we promise to keep it light, fun, and not too salesy (nobody likes that). THE MILK TRAY MAN You know the one…the ad from the 70s, 80s, 90s, where the chap’s dressed from head-to-toe in black, and going to extraordinary lengths to make sure his chocolates are always delivered on time and in pristine condition to the lucky recipient. “All because the lady loves 🍫…” n’all that. This December - although I’ll not be dressed head-to-toe in black, nor styling it out whilst jumping through windows and climbing up the side of buildings - I’ll yet again be crisscrossing the countryside, making sure all of our Truffle & Thyme Christmas hampers are safely delivered, yes, you guessed it…on time and in pristine condition 😉! Last December I did the same, and the year before that, and the year before that - this will be Christmas no.5 doing it like this in fact. Instinctively, you might well wonder why I don’t use a courier? It’s not that I don’t want to; when the volume of sales dictates it, I’ll be the first person to pick up the phone to Darren Moore from Dash Couriers. The way I see it is that if I CAN do it myself, then I WILL do it. Maybe this December might be the tipping point for me and Truffle & Thyme, but that’s growth, which is a good thing thing. However, it won’t mean I’ll stop delivering myself; I’ll still be out there chewing up the miles, but hopefully leaving the extras to be taken care of by Darren and his team. So, if you’re looking for some delicious team or client gifts this December, personally hand-delivered, then look no further. I’ll quite literally go the extra mile for you. “All because….” it’s Christmas! https://lnkd.in/ec2ED-ZS
