I have completed an online course titled "Pathway to Aquaculture Biosecurity: Managing Disease Risks in the Value Chain," offered by FAO. This course focuses on risk-based approaches to reduce pathogen threats related to the movement of aquatic organisms. The course is free and you can enroll using the following link. By participating, you will learn about: 1) The Progressive Management Pathway for Aquaculture Biosecurity (PMP/AB) 2) Risk analysis approach as it applies to aquaculture biosecurity 3) How import risk analysis (IRA) can be used to manage disease risks associated with the importation of live aquatic organisms 4) The application of risk analysis along the aquaculture value chain https://lnkd.in/e2ZxgbiW

In my 45 years of working with the international aquaculture community, what I have learned is that there are at least four critical areas that are needed to ensure consistent success. One of those main concepts is to keep broodstock free of all known pathogens and keeping the PLs at least pathogen free to start. There seems to a lot of misunderstanding on this point so I took some time to address it (AQM 48-2).

How not to agree with the four critical areas that Mr. Newman believes are needed to ensure consistent success? Also, I agree to have ensuring adequate oxygen levels as # 1.

Oxygen generators have important applications in aquaculture: Increase the amount of dissolved oxygen in the water body, aquaculture fish, shrimp and other aquatic organisms need sufficient oxygen to breathe. Oxygen generator can inject oxygen into the aquaculture water body, increase the dissolved oxygen in the water body, meet the respiratory demand of aquatic organisms, and improve the growth rate and survival rate of aquaculture organisms.
