Every founder wants a thriving community but fails to connect with their users. There's only so much your community management team can do to build a lively community and be the face and voice of your project. But have you thought of how much impact your voice as a founder can have on your community's thoughts and belief in your project? Having an AMA session alone with your members can go a long way in building trust in your community. However, some founders see this as a daunting task yet expect so much trust. When your community sees much of your presence in all communications regarding your project, in no time they will begin to resonate with your voice and that trust will begin to build up in them. It's one thing to provide value through your project or tech but it's a whole different thing to lead the front stage and speak to your community. That kind of energy that breaks through the roofs will be the result you'd get. ____________ My name is Rachel Edeh and I help web3 founders build a thriving community or manage one. What's community building if you're not striving toward user retention and growth? If your aim as a founder for building a community around your project isn't targeted towards retention and growth, that is, sustainability then maybe you should focus on engaging with your users on your project socials. But if you seek to nurture the relationship of your users with your project then build a community. It's just as simple as that. Building a community without a vision results in a fallout or decline of members. Retention and growth for your community are achievable when you put in the work to build your community through human connection. No human connection then no community. Building a community because you WANT to won't lead to growth or members' loyalty. But doing it because you NEED to nurture relationships and foster growth will lead to sustainability. Short-lived communities do not prioritize human connection while the ones that do stay a long time. _____________ My name is Rachel Edeh and I help web3 founders build a thriving community or manage one. Community building might not be everything but to founders who care about growth and retention, it is everything. Building a community from scratch doesn't happen in a day. It takes ideation and strategies put into place to see it exist. For most projects, here are some steps that lead to building a community: 📍 Product value must be known 📍 Proper content writing rolled out on socials 📍 Product awareness/marketing begins 📍 Followed by building a community In all these steps, there are sub-steps applied which are unique to each project. You should know that not all project has the same product value or the same strategies applied to content writing, marketing, and community building. Founders who know the impact of community building give it their all to ensure it happens. And if along the way, something isn't right, they continue to refine their skills or strategies to ensure it's done properly. Here are some questions to ask if you're one founder doubting the power of community building: 1. What's the worst thing that could happen if I build a community? 2. What's the worst thing that could happen if I don't build a community? 3. What's the best thing that could happen if I build a community? 4. What's the best thing that could happen if I don't build a community? Asking yourself these questions would determine how much impact community building would have on your project and if it's best that you build one. Aside from other benefits, community building is an effective way to work towards the long-term retention or sustainability of your project and its users. _______________ My name is Rachel Edeh and I help web3 founders build a thriving community or manage one.
