As we get ready for the easter holiday, we want to shine the spotlight this week on a fantastic Regulatory talent at the Reckitt AMS HQ (whose pic in the post is already giving holiday vibes 😁) Please say hello to Tímea Szuhánszki as she takes you through her Reckitt story! ✅ 𝗦𝗵𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮 𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗳 𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗶𝗲𝘄 𝗼𝗳 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗿 𝗝𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗻𝗲𝘆? I joined Reckitt in 2014 April as a Local Regulatory Associate in Hungary. I had pharmaceutical background, but here at Reckitt I was managing many other categories. At the beginning of 2017 an opportunity came to join one of our biggest markets in EU. The UK Regulatory team was looking for someone to manage Household brands for the UK and Ireland. So, I applied and I finally signed my UK contract in March 2017 and moved to the UK in April. In 2018, I was looking for an opportunity to move from the local level to global level to gain broader experience and knowledge of Global Regulatory. So in Sept 2018, I moved to the Air Wick Category team as a Global Regulatory Affairs. I later applied for a Senior Regulatory E-com Hygiene role in Amsterdam. I got it and moved to another country (again) in September 2022, from the UK to the Netherlands. ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗼𝗲𝘀 𝗮 𝘁𝘆𝗽𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗹 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝗹𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲? Basically, the first thing I do is check my calendar, check my emails, update my priority list and try to tick all off, which is of course impossible. Every day is different, it depends on projects, deadlines, stakeholders. I read a lot, search answers, check topics, contact people. I have a lot of meetings and calls, sometimes scheduled, sometimes random calls, because someone needs my help, and I can support them or vice versa, I ask for help. ✅ 𝗪𝗵𝗮𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 𝘆𝗼𝘂? 𝗛𝗼𝘄 𝗱𝗼 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝘁𝗮𝗽 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘄𝗼𝗿𝗸 𝗮𝘁 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗸𝗶𝘁𝘁? I am a good team player. And I think that’s what Reckitt and my colleagues really like about me, at least I hope. Which means that my colleagues, stakeholders - internal and external - like to work with me, because I try to immediately support them, always try to help them and I’m trying to always there for them. ✅𝗕𝘆 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝘀𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗯𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲𝗹𝗳 𝗶𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲, 𝗵𝗼𝘄 𝗵𝗮𝘃𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗺𝗮𝗱𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝘁𝗿𝘂𝗹𝘆 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀? I always try to improve myself because I know I still have a lot to learn. And thankfully Reckitt always gives me the opportunities to learn new things. For example, when I move another role, when I move another country, when I get another project, when I have to solve another issue, when I attend another training, when I meet and talk with my new and old colleagues, and they share their experience with me. I’m learning every day and always. The regulatory field is constantly changing so you should always read and learn a lot. #lifestories #reckitt #freedomtosucceed

Major changes have been seen across the pharma retail landscape today. Just in the last twenty four hours there have been major stories coming from Walgreens and Walmart. Highlights: - Walgreens is reinvigorating their specialty pharmacy offering opening four central locations, three hundred community based locations, and employing fifteen hundred specialty pharmacists - Walmart is opening Bettergoods supplying quality, healthy foods to communities under a new division of the Walmart brand; Walmart grocery accounts for 60% of its' US sales and this could bolster the sector to an even greater extent - Walmart is closing Walmart Health physical and digital locations facing difficult decisions seen by many pharmacies: increase in operating costs, issues with reimbursement, supply chain, and much more making keeping brick and mortar doors open nearly impossible. CMI Media Group 's Point of Purchase team continues to keep a pulse on these major shifts. We are aligned to working with a number of large retailers in the pharma vertical and continue to work with them to develop new, innovative, and first to market opportunities for our clients in an evolving PHYGITAL world. This can't continue. Retail pharmacists are at their breaking point... it should never come down to this... but I fear this is not going to be a one off. I fear this is becoming the reality. We are not ok. If we're not ok, you're not going to be ok. Our mental capacity and health can affect your safety. Let's keep this in mind. Please... let's all show some grace for each other. Empathy and understanding can go A LONG ways. How do we get there? That's the big question. Reimbursements are terrible, if not at mostly negative margins. Salaries are stagnant. Technicians, the backbone of most pharmacies, are scarce. There isn't enough financial incentive for them to stay. Chick-fil-A pays more, so why be a "punching bag"? Things need to change. PBM reform HAS to happen. Corporate greed needs to be reined in. THIS needs to become a one off. Let's not let this continue and become normalized. But also... let's hold this pharmacist dear and hope she gets the support she sorely needs.
Why we need better working conditions in retail pharmacy

Cassie McGrath and I dug into why retail pharmacies are having a hard year. During the pandemic, retail pharmacies including CVS Health, Walgreens, RITE AID, and Walmart saw increased foot traffic as customers flocked to the stores for medications and household items like toilet paper and hand sanitizer. Plus, with the help of government funding, chains earned billions from distributing Covid vaccines. But things seemed to change for the sector by the end of 2022 when fewer people were getting Covid vaccines and tests. Rite Aid filed for bankruptcy last October, and CVS and Walgreens reported steep losses over 2024. What went wrong? Experts say there are several factors, including changing consumer habits, increased competition, and a string of multibillion-dollar acquisitions that haven’t paid off. Walgreens is one of the most celebrated names in the retail pharmacy space, boasting innovation and convenience for its customers. However, in its latest earnings report, the company announced a tough financial environment and outlook, citing “a worse-than-expected U.S. consumer environment.” Without a doubt, inflation has struck Americans at all levels—from the rise in costs of groceries and food to skyrocketing housing payments and insurance rates. Consumer sentiment towards the retail space has been especially challenging, as individuals are starting to pullback on discretionary spending. As CEO Tim Wentworth explained, these economic headwinds have significantly impacted pharmacy margins, causing a pessimistic outlook for the company. https://lnkd.in/gw7xjWWM #pharmacy #pharmaceutical #healthcareaccess #healthandwellness #healthandwellbeing #healthcare #healthcareprofessionals #walgreens

Marketers take note: CVS Health’s Q1 2024 earnings are in, and it’s a mixed bag, with FY guidance lowered following Q1 profit and revenue misses. Same-store front store sales dipped, as did Cosmetics, Hair Care, and Oral Care – categories that saw a pullback in promotional activities. The silver lining✨: Solid Q1 revenue growth -- driven by a strong uptick in the Health Care Benefits and Pharmacy & Consumer Wellness segments, as well as overall store revenue growth of 5.3% due to Pharmacy growth. At Laboratoria Natury, we believe the strength of our company comes from our people. Today, we meet Magda Dudzińska, Sales & Business Development Manager, to talk about her experience with the company, challenges, and more. How long have you been with Laboratoria Natury and what is your position in the company? I have been working at Laboratoria Natury for 20 years, always in positions related to sales. Initially, my role involved introducing and managing the sales of our company's own brands. For the past few years, I have been focusing on developing the sales of our clients' private labels. What has changed since you joined the company? The company has undergone a tremendous transformation. When I started working, it was a small firm with a few products trying to find its place in the pharmaceutical market. Now, we are a globally recognized contract manufacturer, collaborating with clients from almost all over the world. Together with our partners, we introduce modern dietary supplements to the market, including unique product forms. What is the one thing you like the most about your job? What I love most about my job is the people I work with. Definitely the people. They are a group of positively enthusiastic individuals who (I hope! :-) ) truly enjoy what they do. What is the most challenging thing about your job? In a positive sense, it is multitasking. The number of new projects being managed simultaneously can be stressful, but at the same time, it is highly motivating. What do you value most in people, both in professional and private capacity? In people, I value a sense of humor, curiosity about the world, engagement, and passion – in any order. These qualities make me want to be present, whether in my personal life or with the team I work with. At the same time, being a highly energetic person, I greatly appreciate those who bring calm and composure into my life. #OurTeam #DietarySupplement #GreatPlaceToWork #CDMO #WomenInBusiness #WorkplaceMotivation #EmployeeExperience #ProfessionalGrowth

People ask how on earth these big retailers go broke ?! here is the answer: 1. they don't operate for care which will lead to profit , they operate purely for the "profit now concept"(it is not in a CEO dictionary to go long term plans because their contracts are very short and they want to make the biggest amount of bonuses in few years ) 2. they cut expenses at the bottom = less patient care ,more burnout , extremely high turnover and consequences are known . 3. they rely on deals like #pbms so they can secure business unethically and crush small independent pharmacies as a way to secure volume that would keep alive for only short term ( the irony is ,it is still legal in Canada except #Quebec) 4. they inflate prices of medicine in thier supply chain and they charge more for insurance ( who they have deals with already ) and the patient is the one paying for all this from their premiums . 5. they convince officials that they can do more for less leading to extremely wrong decisions for reimbursement that kill more pharmacies because the cost of filling is way more than what these companies claim they can afford the business 6. when they reach a stage that they don't make same amount of money , they close many branches and by this they not only killed competition but also shoot themselvs in the foot. it is about greed and control not about #patientcare , and the #public as well the #profession are the loosers in this . that is why #corporate pressure and #pbms are the most dangerous thing on our profession in #Ontario and in #Canada .
