Freight trains constantly swap EOTs during interchanges, leading to mismatched equipment and costly inefficiencies. Traditional EOTs are heavy, bulky and expensive, adding to the challenges. Every month, railroads do accounting to track who has whose EOT, wasting time and resources. This mode can be confused with Shunting Mode. Shunting Mode is a simpler mode and requires less infrastructure. OS Mode is a more complex mode and requires more infrastructure and provides more support to the driver and is considered a safer mode.  OS Mode is more suitable for complex shunting operations and use in areas such as construction and maintenance sites. However Shunting Mode is a suitable option for basic shunting operations. Imagine that there is a locomotive in block but there is a spare place for parking extra locomotive and we are willing to park two locomotives in this track. We can active OS mode for this progress. Keep these tips in mind: ✅ Don't assume a train is coming at the same time or from the same direction every day. ✅ Don't drive over a railroad crossing unless you're certain there is enough room for your vehicle to clear the crossing. Trains can extend up to 3 feet beyond the rails. ✅ If you are stopped at multiple sets of tracks and the passing train has cleared, check to ensure another train is not coming from the opposite direction.
