XOCEAN's Offshore Uncrewed Surface Vessels (USVs), great example of using technology to reduce risks, costs and emissions offshore. I've been following XOCEAN for a few years, and got the chance to see one of the USVs up close a few months back in Grimsby. Quite a neat solution that was brought around on the back of a simple light trailer. Great to see such an innovative company founded in #Ireland 🇮🇪. The USVs conduct ocean surveys including mapping the sea bed. I understand some of these surveys must be carried out periodically to monitor the seabed and foundations of structures offshore and this approach is a more cost efficient way to collect the data compared to sending out a vessel and crew. The USVs are piloted from onshore using mainly #satellite communication. Although as we see more private 4G and #5G networks offshore, maybe this could be used as a localised alternative for #connectivity. #innovation

Petrobras Innovative Mini ROV Workshop Petrobras hosted on April 24th the "mini ROV" workshop focused on the cutting-edge application of "mini ROVs" in shallow-water operations. This groundbreaking technology presents a viable alternative to traditional shallow-water diving, significantly enhancing safety by reducing risk exposure in #offshore environments. Our business partners, BRS Submarine Robotics, in attendance. Renowned for their expertise in shallow-water mini #ROV services, BRS specializes in a variety of critical operations, including duct, structural integrity and sun-coral inspections, pull-in support, among others. A highlight of the event was the unveiling of the Shallow-water ROV Support Vessel (SRSV), a concept developed through a strategic collaboration between WSB Advisors, EMBRAREB, and BRS. The #SRSV designation draws inspiration from Petrobras's traditional approach to categorizing its fleet, signifying a new chapter in operational efficiency and technological advancement.
