Roblox is growing up! Recent data shows that 46% of U.S. teens regularly play Roblox—up 48% in just one year. This data comes from a reliable survey of over 13,000 teens, with an average age of 15.8. As Roblox matures, brands should take notice. Just like YouTube did years ago, Roblox is attracting older players as technology and quality improve. For brands, this means you might be paying up to eight times more than you think to reach your audience. Why? Brands often pay for ad space in popular games, but analyzing demographic data from 80 games revealed a fourfold difference in age demographics. Some games have significantly more teenage players than others. This is crucial. Factors like gender, pricing, and traffic quality can greatly impact your marketing costs. Roblox is aging up. Here's the latest data: 𝟰𝟲% 𝗼𝗳 𝗨𝗦 𝘁𝗲𝗲𝗻𝘀 𝗿𝗲𝗴𝘂𝗹𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗹𝗮𝘆 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗼𝘅 - 𝗮𝗻 𝗶𝗻𝗰𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝟰𝟴% 𝗶𝗻 𝗼𝗻𝗲 𝘆𝗲𝗮𝗿 🤯 It's reliable data. Over 13,000 teens were surveyed by Piper Sandler; average respondent age was 15.8 years old. By the way, it's no surprise Roblox is aging up. This is what UGC platforms do. YouTube did it a decade ago and Roblox is doing it today. As technology improves, quality improves, and more people join. Brands, pay attention: as Roblox ages up 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝘂𝗹𝗱 𝗯𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝘆𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝟴 𝘁𝗶𝗺𝗲𝘀 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝗻 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗹𝗶𝘀𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗮𝘂𝗱𝗶𝗲𝗻𝗰𝗲. Why? Brands pay to occupy prime real estate in popular games. We do it all the time, it's hugely effective. But, when 𝘄𝗲 𝗮𝗻𝗮𝗹𝘆𝘇𝗲𝗱 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗴𝗿𝗮𝗽𝗵𝗶𝗰 𝗱𝗮𝘁𝗮 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝟴𝟬 𝗴𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀 we found a 4x difference in age demographics between games (see chart). In otherwords, some games have 4x more teenage players (or over 18 players) than other games. This is huge. Factor in gender differences, game pricing, and traffic quality... by partnering with the wrong game 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗮𝗻 𝗲𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗹𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝘆 𝟴𝘅 𝗺𝗼𝗿𝗲 𝘁𝗼 𝗿𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝘆𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝘁𝗮𝗿𝗴𝗲𝘁 𝗱𝗲𝗺𝗼. That's only going to grow as Roblox continues to age up. That's why we're 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗿𝗼𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗥𝗼𝗯𝗹𝗼𝘅 𝗚𝗮𝗺𝗲𝘀. The data's out there, and the skews are real. The smart move is to plan accordingly. We can use data to find the best game for your brand.
