We need your help to provide another 1,000 VF100 water filters to families in Chimaltenango, Guatemala. 💧🇬🇹 Our water project in the rural community outside of Chimaltenango has already provided 1,000 VF100 water filters to low income families. But there are still families lacking this essential, lifesaving resource. Guatemala is the number one country in Latin America for child malnutrition. Its levels of stunting in children under the age of five is close to 50%. Only half the population has access to uncontaminated drinking water that is readily available. Currently there is no clean water infrastructure in the community we are working in. If a family isn’t able to purchase bottled water from a market, they have no option but to drink water that can make them sick. Together let's change and save lives, one water filter at a time. Your charitable contributions are tax deductible and go directly toward providing clean, safe drinking water in developing rural communities. Give today. Give clean water. Save lives. 💧 #waterforlifecharity #bewaterforlife #chimaltenango #cleanwaterguatemala #waternonprofit https://lnkd.in/g9zVcyjs

Each Christmas we select a great cause to support and this year we chose FareShare UK. FareShare strengthens communities by distributing surplus food to local charities that turn it into meals. The food they redistribute, which is nutritious and good to eat, reaches charities across the UK, including school breakfast clubs, older people’s lunch clubs, homeless shelters and community cafes. Every week, they provide enough food to create almost a million meals for vulnerable people. Those meals also help our environment because the surplus food would otherwise have gone to waste. For every tonne of surplus food FareShare redistributes, it prevents the waste of 2 tonnes of CO2e and 2.66 million litres of water. The meals also help reduce the stigma of needing support. They are currently raising money for their Winter Campaign. In many parts of the world, access to clean and safe water is a luxury, not a given. For countless communities, the daily struggle to find water impacts their health, education, and future. At CDRS, we believe that no child should suffer the consequences of water scarcity. Our mission is to bring life-changing water solutions to the areas that need it the most. By providing sustainable water projects, we ensure that children can spend more time in school, learning and playing with friends, and simply being children. Every drop of water from these projects represents hope, health, and a brighter future for children. By supporting CDRS, you are not just providing water; you are giving the gift of life, dignity, and endless possibilities. Please donate so that we can continue to provide water in areas where it’s not accessible. Your donations matter. 🎄 This Christmas, Let’s Bring Hope to Those Who Need It Most 🎄 For many, the festive season is a time of joy and togetherness. But for others, it’s a time of struggle. A food bank is the last place anyone imagines they’ll need to turn to – especially at Christmas. Last winter, Trussell food banks distributed an astonishing 600,000 food parcels to people facing hunger and poverty. This year, the need is just as urgent as more families are struggling to afford even the essentials. Your generosity can make all the difference. By donating to Trussell's urgent winter appeal, you’ll provide more than just food – you’ll offer hope, dignity, and relief to those in financial hardship. How You Can Help: 🛒 Donate Food - What to donate: Non-perishable, in-date items like tins, packets, and baby food (jars, pouches, rusks). - Where to donate: Drop off at your local supermarket or community donation points. Use the map to find your closest one: https://lnkd.in/eg2X88r3 💝 Donate Funds: Every pound helps Trussell to provide essential support to those who need it most. Together, we can make sure no one faces Christmas hungry or alone. #TrussellTrust #ChristmasAppeal #DonateFood #EndHunger #CommunitySupport

Many LA organizations are reporting overwhelm of material items and clothes at donation drop-offs. Here's your gentle reminder of how to carefully donate to best serve those in need. ❤️ Whether it’s a natural disaster like wildfires or a general donation to your local thrift, donating trash or unwanted items puts a burden on communities already struggling. While it's good intentioned, this is a common struggle, not only during disasters but in the secondhand trade markets in the global south as well. Donate, don't dump: -Only donate what’s being asked for, check for updates before dropping things off -Items should be clean, in good condition, and folded -Sometimes your time and money are needed much more than material things -Make a direct connection to affected families so you can get them exactly what they need -Before starting your own collection drive, check in with local orgs on all of the above, amplify their messages and keep communication accurate -Consider raising money through a garage or IG story sale instead of donating the items directly #LAfires #mutualaid #climateactivist

The Short Version: Ancora Ministries is trying to raise $15,000 this month to buy a 2nd vehicle in Guatemala, and I’m not going to shave until we have what we need. Nobody wants to look at my scruffy mug, so would you consider donating to this campaign? https://lnkd.in/gPshB-eF The Longer Version: We might be on Day #921 of Silly Socks (You’ll find them in the comments.) but it’s Day #7 of No Shave July/Summer/However Long It Takes. If you know me, you know I do silly stuff to being attention to things I think are important. Things like helping Ancora eradicate child hunger & malnutrition in Central Texas and Guatemala. This particular stunt is about the Guatemala part. Guatemala is somewhat spread out, and turns out, it takes multiple teams to serve the 20 communities where Ancora has nutrition programs. Currently we have 2 teams and 1 vehicle to serve a geographic footprint that takes 7 hours to drive from northernmost community to southernmost. We need to buy another used vehicle so that both of our teams can serve their geographic areas. True Story: If we’re going to make a difference in the malnutrition fight, we’re going to need the infrastructure - like personnel and transportation - to do it. This fundraiser is hugely important in helping us serve the kids in our 20 communities, AND it sets us up to continue to add children (and communities) to our programs. If you can help, please go to this link: https://lnkd.in/gPshB-eF

There are many ways to help hungry people, depending on your resources and location. Here are some ideas: 1. *Donate to food banks*: Food banks collect and distribute food to those in need. You can search for food banks in your area and donate non-perishable items or funds. 2. *Volunteer at a soup kitchen*: Soup kitchens provide meals for people who are struggling to afford food. You can volunteer your time to help serve meals or prepare food. 3. *Support food-related charities*: Consider donating to organizations that work to address hunger and food insecurity, such as Feeding America or the World Food Programme. 4. *Offer to buy groceries or meals*: If you know someone who is struggling to afford food, offer to buy them groceries or meals. 5. *Advocate for policies that address hunger*: You can contact your local representatives and express support for policies that address hunger
